Schefter still says Jets and people need to STFU. He said STFU not shut the fuck up. Also, the Jets planned for this and managed the cap specifically for Asomugha. He wants to come here and Houston is making it challenging but he still thinks that anyone that's deciding to take any job would decide location and happiness over money.

everyones tone has changed. Im listening to ESPN radio and they are stating the same thing. They are saying the JETS are still number 1 but the amount of money offered from the other team is temping so it wouldnt be all that shocking if he doesnt end up a JET.

Let Houston have him. Get Cro and Edwards.

My thinking is that nobody really gives a shit about the Texans outside of texas.

The Jets, thanks to their location, Rex, Hard Knocks, and recent success are a team with a national presence.
That would lend itself to more opportunities for commercials, TV guest spots, etc.

For example, imo Andre Johnson would be a FAR bigger star if he were on the Jets.

Apart from in 2009, you mean?

Jets may win this race, but if they lose it then let's not kid ourselves it's to a bunch of no-hope mugs who have no chance of doing anything. They may not have Rex and they may not have the Jets defence, but they'll make the post season in 2011 whether they get Aso or not.

Nobody gives a shit about the Texans outside of Houston. Almost every where else is Cowboys country.

Just something I saw on the Texans message board. Not that I believe it or anything.

Even if we don't sign Aso, All is not lost. There's still Randy Moss and Tiki Barber out there to fall back on.

Personally, I'd be OK with the Jets getting stuck with a terrible cap situation in 4-5 years if it meant loading up and winning a title right now.

If this were any other league I'd feel differently, but in the NFL things turn over so quickly. You never know how long your window to compete will be open, and because contracts aren't guaranteed you can rebuild yourself on the fly in as little as 2 seasons. So I think you have to go all in if you have a serious chance to win.
