He actually would make a difference for the Texans though. Those other two teams would be a pure money grab. I never thought I'd say this when we got him cause I didn't like him at the time but yeah I'd definitely miss Braylon. For whatever ills he had in Cleveland, he was a good Jet.
he would have the same effect he had with oakland in houston in that he would shutdown one side of the field so the qb would just pick on all the other shitty players on the texans defense
I don't know about that one.... The Texans have been a team, since 2007 (where they finished 8-8), where everyone has expected big things out of them... But it's never happened. They've yet to make the playoffs. In 08 they went 8-8, in 09 they went 9-7 but last year they fell off the map big time going 6-10. I'm sure Aso would improve their overall defense, but as a franchise? I feel their window of opportunity is closing. With or without Aso... I cant picture the Texans competing with teams such as the Steelers, Jets, Ravens, Colts, Patriots or Chargers anytime soon. Even the Chiefs has become the new Texans in my eyes... A team that's on the rise as of right now. The Texans had their window... They blew it if you ask me.
They were still a talented team that lost a bunch of close games with the worst pass defense known to man that couldn't hold a lead. They lost to us on a bad coverage breakdown, they lost to the Jags on a Hail Mary, they lost a thirteen-point lead late to Denver and Tebow in like his second NFL start. Aso would have probably made a difference in all of those games at the very least. They still have a relatively young, dynamic offense and Mario Williams, it's not like their core players are over the hill. They've needed a new coach for at least two years though. The only reason Kubiak didn't get fired this offseason was because of the impending lengthy lockout and the headache of having to bring in a new system with a short camp.
Whoa whoa, we would certainly not be the first. Lester Hayes and Mike Haynes from the Raiders in the early '80s, typically regarded as the greatest cornerback tandem of all time.
A lot of that reason though is the fact that they have no secondary at all. Consistently the easiest team to throw against. Their defense loses them a lot of games. Hell, their secondary is precisely why we were able to drive down the field and beat them.
The big difference is that they still have no safety and no CB on the other side of the field to still not be a shitty defense.
U guys do know that if Aso goes to he 49ers, they have a greatchance of making the post season. The NFC west is the least competitive division in football
They also will have a great chance of still being terrible, considering Frank Gore is holding out and Alex Smith exists.
Big whoop, they'd still be likely to be one and done or at best do what Seattle did last year and pull a home upset followed by a beatdown in the second round.
dam that sucks and if they're gonna get Orton too who will team up with Marshall again. That being said if we get Aso it won't really matter.
