clayton basically just said that we spent all our cap space on tone... i trust tanny more than any news blowhard though
How confident are you right now we land Aso? 1-10 Im at about an 8. And that is too high considering what we are dealing with.
Yea the more probable us having the best cb duo ever comes the more I don't want it. Unless they shore up the rest of the dbs and guess they'll use the vet exemption on ellis? Rex ryan is walking round with an m and ms pretzel sponsored boner right now
Mike Lombardi on NFL Network states that the Jets offered Aso 12 million a year: http://www.rotoworld.com/content/pl...gnews.asp?sport=NFL&id=779&line=207157&spln=1 Do not know how legit the source is.
Because the sidelines will be taken out of the equation and Rex will blitz the daylights out of teams. 2 Receivers are eliminated. You can double up on the 3rd and even 4th then send the house on the QB. Every down. So we lose Cromartie and upgrade him with Nnamdi. Check Lose Braylon and replace him with a tall deep threat: Randy Moss. Check (discount) Cut Bryan Thomas and replace him with a cheap, up and coming Antwan Barnes to rush the edge. Check. Spend first two picks of the draft on DL. Check. Lets not forget about Kyle Wilson. He may have disappointed last year but if his head is up to pace -- in my opinion the physical tools are all there, he just needs the game to slow down -- passing will become impossible.
They probably are allocating that 3 million veteran money toward Holmes then with only 2 mill against cap
not anymore, lol. clayton said we had about 10 mill to spend. spent it all on holmes. but he didn't know. we still got about 8 mill left. it should be very easy to restructure deals to make enough room for aso.
Double up the 3rd and 4th options with who? We have Kyle Wilson, and Leonhard so far. We have a lot to fill in. Drew Coleman was a nice 4th CB, and even he was hated. So now we'll have depth that is worse than Coleman.
3's and 4's going against 3's and 4's. use a safety to help out. it's not rocket science. most teams can't cover anyone, let alone worry about their 3rd and 4th DB's. we would automatically eliminate 2 guys on almost every play.
The QB will have 3 seconds to throw into either Revis, Aso, or double coverage. The DBs don't have to be great if there's two of them covering a teams #3 or #4 option. You're telling me Kyle Wilson and Dwight Lowery or Drew Coleman and Eric Smith won't be able to cover a Julian Edelman or a Anthony Fasano? If this happens there will be A LOT of interceptions on this defense I think.
