I hadn't seen it. As much as I want Braylon back I'd rather spend the money on Aso than Braylon & Cro.
I went to the store to get Holmes jersey, none their fucking Modells....I want the white one to, to bad its not online in my stores and im not getting a "personal" one for 10 more bucks. Ill wait, but shit if Aso gets signed im getting that.
Other than being lazy and a bad teammate, Moss can cause INTs. Part of the reason the Pats dropped him is Brady was throwing INTs by trying to get the ball to him (2 vs. us in game 2) as he jogged his routes.
Randy Moss will get covered more aggressively than Edwards was, might open up Holmes for some big plays.
Route running is by far the most underrated skill in the NFL. A huge number of interceptions are caused by the QB forcing a bad throw because the receiver isn't where he's supposed to be. Cutting one or two yards early or arriving one or two second late can make a huge difference when the QB is trying to beat a 6 man rush.
Let's cut all our other players on offense besides Sanchez, Holmes, OLine, Greene, LT Cotchery, Keller, and just sign a shit load of sumo wrestlers. Ground and pound. Then sign every pass rusher alive + Nmadi.
Thank You. The phased him out of the offense for a reason. We are not a fucking vertical offense either. We are ground and pound, kick your ass Jets football. We cannot lose sight of that. I know Sanchez is ready to take the next step, but I do not want to be a passing team.
So signing Moss changes what type of team we are? I'm confused. If the Colts signed DeAngelo Williams would they be a running team? No. They would have a legit backfield option. And that's what Moss would be for us. An option to open up the field.
We are ground and pound but Braylon brought a vertical elemnt to the offense and we hit plenty of home runs w/ him. Also, Sanchez is going into year 3, we will be throwing more than we have the last 2 years.
If the Aso thing happens, I'd like the Jets to take a look at Chansi Stuckey. I know Stuck doesn't scare anyone, but I'd like someone with familiarity with Schotty and Sanchez to come in and fight for the slot job. The Moss thing? Ugh. Do you know how foreign our 2011 offensive playbook will become as Schotty tries to incorporate Moss into the gameplans? It will knock the entire offense out of its comfort zone.
Braylon can also run the route tree. Moss doesn't want to run the entire route tree. He wants to run forward.
I agree but Moss brings size and a deep threat. I'm ok w/ randy signing an incentive laden deal, one where if he isn't giving us effort we can release him w/ little to no cap penalty. If we get Aso we cannot possibly have much money to play w/ so we have to be creative and take some chances.
Looks like the Skins just made a trade with the Broncos for Jabar Gaffney. Hmmm. Let's not assume that they're going to break the bank for Braylon Edwards. Come to think of it, I really haven't heard any substantial rumors about Braylon yet.
Why do I get the feeling that next year we'll be hearing a crazy story about how all this went down behind the scenes. Like when we drafted Sanchez.
...that's what his job would be in New York. He's a vertical threat and redzone threat on every snap...even if he's giving a half-assed effort, defenses still fear him. Holmes, Keller, Cotchery, and hopefully Kerley can do the other things - Moss would be a deep threat here.
