I'm betting 98% of the world doesn't. LOL. I've misspelled it twice today as I try to explain to my girlfriend why following this probably non story is more imporant than work, her or the kids.
"Latest: Reports indicate Jets players have been contacted in regards to restructuring deals in effort to sign Asomugha." Conflicts with: #Jets @Mark_Sanchez says he's willing to restructure his contract, but I've been told #NYJ doesn't need to do it as of right now.
I like how so many people are like "If he does this, he's pulling a Lebron" ....so is there gonna be a elaborate introduction with explosions and an ESPN special? I hope so.
I pulled a Clay Davis yesterday when I heard we were talking with Asomugha. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit
Well we might have the money to sign Aso right now, but then wed still have the issue of having basically NO safeties on the team and no cap space to sign any, as well as a slew of other depth that needs to be signed. So we could "sign" aso, but wed be completely screwed to fill our other needs at the team. So they might not need the money @ this exact time.
He wants to be coastal so he can work on his post-football acting career. TheJetsblog told me that. So either he stays in cali or he comes here. Maybe he'll wanna play in January one day. I'm still not going to get my hopes up about this, because it is legal cheating.
I'd be fine with Leonhard - Ihedigbo (will be cheap) - Pool (around a mill) - Lowery + Cook Heck I'd even be fine with E. Smith instead of Leonhard!!!
Okay, man. Enough is enough. You clearly don't understand how valuable someone like Nnamdi Asomugha is. This team would have the best cornerback tandem of all-time. A move like this will improve our sack totals, turnovers, and yardage allowed. Without him, this team did a damn fine job in most of the major defensive stat categories. With him, those numbers will only get better. Jimmy Leonhard, Brodney Pool, Dwight Lowery, and James Ihedigbo can hold down the safety spot - especially if they're playing behind the league's best corners. Our safeties will constantly have opportunities for INTs.
Smith and Pool are both free agents who started on one of the best defenses in the nfl last year/playoffs. They might have several suitors especially being that cheap.
