truth. I stopped worrying about the money aspect.... I trust tanny and his hard work more than anybody else here myself included. Youd have to think that with all this time tanny prepared every scenerio and is ready to execute accordingly.
If you think about it, without santonio Holmes we don't make the playoffs. His late game catches gave us wins when we should have lost so he deserved his big contract, so we gotta stop complaining on how much it cost and just be happy we have him
Welcome Holmes . I can't see Braylon wanting to leave. He'll be offered a nice contract, nothing like Santonios, but he'll be taken care of.
How the fuck is $24 mil guaranteed over 5 years the highest amount of guaranteed money ever given to a WR?
If you think about it without Braylon Edwards we wouldnt of won a playoff game. His late game catch against the Colts gave us playoff wins when we should of lost so he deserves a big contract. You can say this about almost any player on our team. Overpaying one guy, means you cant sign another when youre straddling the cap. Hell if we signed Asomugha for 25 million a year and had to cut Holmes/Scott/Edwards do you think people on here would be cheering 'Yeah we got Aso thats all that matters". Money is damn important in this game, and how much you can spend is limited
personally, I think a upgrade at safety would be better. Their are alot of good corners out there. Not on Nnamdi's level mind you, but still really solid.
Andre Johnson can make 10.5 mil per year with incentives. We don't know anything about the details of Holmes' contract. We don't know it ifts front loaded, back loaded, or what. He might make 5 this year and 15 next year, who knows. Too early to start comparing him to other players' contracts. His salary also reflects his value to the JETS, not his value in the league. I'm just happy he's signed. Anyone here not trust Tannenbaum?
QUOTE=Henryflo1;2183985]wow what a surprise some jets fans are bitching about the money given[/QUOTE]
How badly does @Santonio10 Holmes want to win another SB? Well, he turned down more $$ from another team to sign w/ #Jets, per source.
Bringing in a real big upgrade at safety, absolutely, but I don't know if that guy is out there... I mean a real big upgrade, a Pro Bowl kinda guy.
None of us know the details of the contract yet, even what Schefter said was just "early numbers" so im really not sure what the argument is about. That said they did say it was the most guaranteed money ever given to a wr
I'm not saying it's acceptable to bitch about this particular contract, but how is money given not a topic to argue over in the NFL?
