it would be unreal if this happened.... hell, just signing holmes would make me extremely happy. both would turn what would be an offseason of losing guys into an offseason of taking a huge step forward.
Bye bye Brad. I'll miss him, but he was number 4 at best on the list of priorities. He'll take away a dimension of the game that saved our ass multiple times (Wildcat) and we'll miss him on kick return (especially if Cro goes, I guess Wilson will take over). I don't really see how he fits on the Bears, but good luck Brad.
as awesome as holmes/aso are we still need a pass rush cause our is nonexistent and our front 7 got shit on by mendenhal in the afgcg
They're in for a rude awakening if they expect him to be a top WR for them. They already have Hester...why get Brad?
clayton just on Mike and Mike said that there is some chance the Jets end up with both Holmes and Aso. He said once Mike (Tannenbaum) gets it in his head, he is going to do whatever he can to find a way to make it work... He said they aren't the favorites right now for Aso, but that there is a good chance the Jets find a way to make it work... also he threw out that the number for Tone is expected to be just under 10 million a year...
Having Brad as the upfront/second returner makes it a lot kicker to kick away from Hester. Plus Smith is an awesome coverage guy, and he gives you the wildcat. And the Bears have crap at wide receiver so Smith would be an improvement at the three four slot, and since Martz is the coordinator they run a lot of three and four WR formations. It makes a lot of sense.
michaelombardi Michael Lombardi I keep hearing from well placed relible NFL sources that this Jet talk and Nmandi Asomugha is serious and I mean serious.
god damn it the anticipation is killing me here... I just want a resolution either sign him or break off talks. I don't know if we could take 3 days of this....
I think it is serious now....a few days ago it just seemed like a dream but our cap situation is nowhere as bad as it was made out to be. Our only true losses will be Edwards and Smith. Nnamdi will be an upgrade from Cromartie, and apparently Holmes could be signed by the end of the day. Once when Holmes is signed, I believe all eyes will turn toward Nnamdi and we can breakdown how much cap is available and the Jets are apparently willing to cut Bryan Thomas AND Bart Scott. Ill be shocked if we cut Bart but it will be worth it to get Nnamdi....no doubt.
Michael Lombardi on Twitter....."I keep hearing from well placed reliable NFL sources that this Jet talk and Nmandi Asomugha is serious and I mean serious"
Cutting Bart Scott would not be worth it. What's the point of having the most feared passing defense when teams can just run it?
