Our offense is young, but our defense is more or less pretty old. Building patiently is fine if you are not close at all or a fringe playoff team, we were literally one bad half away from probably being super bowl champions. I am not saying become stupid and try to be like the Washington Redskins, but if the move makes sense go for the throne when it is in reach.

I'd rather be a champion more than anything else right now, being close and yet so far gets old damn quick.

I just think he wants to play in a big city. He's never gotten the attention he's deserved throughout his career. For him it's not about the money either - he's made tons in Oakland. I think he'll sign where he wants to play. It's not like Holmes' situation. Aso has already cashed in.

They could retain Carr - I think they'll try to keep a few our their corners. Carr wants to start though, so that will be a big factor in where he signs.

I knew McDaniel's country ass would stay down south. New Orleans is a good fit for him - they're pretty think at safety.

Burney's staying close to home as well...signed with the Panthers.

Jets sign UDFA Josh Baker, TE, NW Missouri State

edit: should there be a separate thread for Jets UDFA signings?

Nope. He's a workout warrior that's very similar to Dustin Keller.

I'll post some info in the UDFA thread.

Hey! That's not nice. Teenager of the Year has informed us that he is not a teenager and he's been reading this board everyday since 2002.

I can't find the same answer anywhere. How much does Tanny have to work with?

I thought at best it was 9-11 million.

Seems to be anywhere from nothing to 30 million depending on who you ask.

We gotta wait till there is confirmation about dead money counting against the cap and then see what type of cuts/resructuring happens.

I have a feeling that Santonio might come back with an offer from Baltimore, not Washington.

They need speed at WR as they had by far the slowest receiving group last year. They made over 9 million in cap space by informing Heap, Mason and McGahee that they will be cut.

I have a BAD feeling about this, especially since if Santonio is their target, he gets his big payday and lands on a winning team.
