Tannenbaum doesn't work a contract as simple as saying 8 mil/year. Incentives, backloads, bonuses, and a bunch of other shit we can't imagine is what makes Tanny the GM that he is.

I think Edwards will avoid jail time.

I just posted that in the Braylon/DUI thread. I would be surprised if he took that plea without having already insured, more or less, what the ramifications would be in Cleveland.

9 times out of ten these stories are ran assuming

    a) said violator will get maximum penalty under law

    or

b)like said violator is a joe schmoe without a legal team

EDIT: see i didnt even read the story i just did. theres the headline. and then theres this

“It’s possible Edwards may not have to serve jail time, instead being assigned a lesser penalty, such as a fine,” a court spokesperson told Vrentas.

Watching SportsCenter, Matt Hasselbeck was just listed in their top 5 available free agents. It's funny how the top available QB is automatically in the top 5 but as a player Matt Hasselbeck is nowhere near the top 5 talent-wise. Of course, there is the fact Tim Hasselbeck made up the list (biased much?).

I think the most important thing we have to keep in mind, no matter what happens in the coming days, is that Tannenbaum and Rex have a plan and a vision for this team. They definitely deserve the benefit of the doubt, whatever direction they decide to go in. Last year's "questionable moves" (dumping Leon, Rhodes, Faneca, Feely; bringing in LT, Pool, Folk) all ended up working out pretty nicely. I have confidence Tannenbaum is going to do what is right for the team going forward.

So while it might stink thinking about losing Brad Smith or Eric Smith or even Braylon or Cromartie.. there is no doubt Tannenbaum has about 50 different backup scenarios and will have something up his sleeve.

So is there no way we can get Nnamdi? Say if we let Santonio go? and sign Braylon?

I'm so tired of hearing about Nnamdi. We aren't getting him. Let's move on to realistic free agent pick ups.

They never talk about Jonathan Joseph on Sportscenter, so we could probably sign him for $3m a year.

We'll have to cut Jonathan Joseph to free the cap space for Thigpen. Sorry.

Kelly Gregg just got cut by the Ravens. Anyone think he has anything left that Rex could use?

I know, I hate these too but I think the Rex connection may still be in effect for some of the Raven D.
