+1, opposite title thread is back! You only need 1 page to understand he probably cost the Jets a Super Bowl
What position on the defense was he playing in the first half of the steelers game? This is so much more fun than talking about the CBA.
So let's just get this out of the way. Every good game, drive, and play will be thanks to Moore and anything that goes wrong will be because of schotty for the whole year, right? this year we can probably do 200 pages.
Welcome Back! Summer almost in the Books, and another Glorious year for the Ryan Regime on tap! Hey, any of you guys plan on going to Florham park?
Schotty alone in his office for five months with nothing to do but draw up quintuple reverses on napkins... Discuss.
Moore/Callahan will get the credit. Schotty will get nothing. Its just the law of this board. I agree with you about the 1st half of the Steelers game. Shit, both Chip-game losses are on the defense more than they are on the offense.
Precisely. And when someone points out that Schotty should get credit when things go well on offense they will be yelled at and told they clearly don't understand anything about football. That will be followed by silly photoshopped pictures. There, just saved us 6 months of nonsense.
If only it was that easy. I hate some of the crap he pulls as much as the next guy. His trick plays should all be taken and burned. The "I knew we should have called a pass there, only an idiot would run it." people annoy the fuck out of me. It's so easy to say we should have done something else after the fact. Of course someone such as Hobbes would have you believe that he calls a perfect offensive game every week... From his couch.
As bad as the defense played, the fact is they only gave up 17 points (and scored 2). The single most costly play in that game was that idiotic decision to throw the ball on 3rd and 17 late in the first half from our own 25 yard line. We couldn't move the ball a goddamn inch all half, but we're supposed to pick up 17 yards in THAT situation, in THAT enviornment, against THAT defense!!!??? ... Absolutely ridiculous. If we run the damn ball, and go into the locker room only down 17-0 ... we regroup and go to the SB two weeks later. I'll go to my grave believing that. And then ... when we finally do crawl our way back into the game, he abandons the run at the goal line. I've always defended Schotty, but he killed us in the most crucial moments of that game. But anyway ... I'm over it. I've learned to live with it. It really doesn't bother me at all anymore. Nope ... Not one bit.
As bad as our defense played in the AFCCG especially in the first half, we still only managed a field goal in the first half and 0 offensive first quarter points. (what a suprise there)
It was a bad decision(and I still don't believe it was a fumble) but if we hand off we are down 17-0 and punt back to Pitt who gets the ball near midfield w/ plenty of time left on the clock. Let's assume they kick a FG and it's 20-0, is there really much of a difference btw 24-3 and 20-0? So assuming everything plays out in a similar fashion(we can't but let's play along) the TD to Holmes cuts it to 20-7(rather than 24-10), we get the safety and it cuts the deficit to 20-9(rather than 24-12), we get the TD late that cuts it to 20-16 or 17(if we get 2 pt conv). We still would have needed a stop on the Steelers last possession, nothing changes. We lost that game(just like the '09 title game) b/c of the poor play of the defense.
