It feels good to finally be able to look at the schedule and know for a fact that I have something to look forward to on those days.
I have a good feeling that some deals have been talked about and the smaller deals will be done quickly. Things have gone on during this lockout. Teams were not going to sit by and do nothing. I don't think it's going to be as fucked up as we think.
Clark Judge has a good article putting it in perspective. Too long to print. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/15348620/lockout-judgements-winners-losers-turning-points A couple of good notes at the end... Tweet to remember "Man, I'm exhausted with all the CBA talks. I just want to play football again." New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie, who sounded like -- and this is not a misprint -- the voice of reason for much of the lockout. Tweet to forget "Look, guys, I have no reason to lie. We were tricked, duped, led astray, hoodwinked and bamboozled." That was Washington's Vonnie Holliday immediately after owners made their 10-year proposal. Then players sat down, looked at what they had and realized, gee, this isn't so bad after all. In fact, two days after Holliday said he and his colleagues were "tricked" and "duped," players reached a tentative agreement.
BREAKING NEWS Owners, players reportedly agree to new deal Player reps and all the league's players must still vote on the deal, reports NFL Network and FoxSports.com's Jay Glazer.
This couldn't come at a better time! I've been waiting for this Free Agency scramble all off season. Prediction: DeAngelo Williams will sign w/ Patriots Does FA still start 1 week after the deal is accepted? NFL.com is reporting the deal will be finalized 7/26...so 8/2 @ 12AM FA starts?
So when's the player vote today so we can officially put this to bed once and for all? At least it sounds like today's finally going to be the day.
BREAKING NEWS Per Mike and Mike in the Morning The players and owners have agreed to allow teams to sign their own players today, make trades today, and sign unrestricted free agents tomorrow. Teams can talk to unrestricted free agents today. Also 10 teams will start training camp Wednesday, 10 more Thursday, 10 more Friday, and 2 more Sunday, the Jets and the Texans
