But it is a requirement to reach a new cba.
And there disbanding of the union was legally declared a sham.
The idea that they won't re-certify the union is bullshit.

Yes, but they've put a time frame on it.

True but the owners are doing it because they want the insurance of having the anti-trust defense before they start the new season.
It's not right but it's also not surprising.
There doing it because they don't trust the NFLPA*(which is smart since neither side has proved trustworthy.)

Edit: Also the nflpa should propose there own timeline.

    Adam Schefter Just tweeted this.....
Bills S George Wilson on ESPN: "This is nothing more than an attempt to get the fans to turn on the players." Doesn't expect a vote Friday

    That's not so good.

De Smith shouldn’t be surprised about new revenue sharing arrangement

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...prised-about-new-revenue-sharing-arrangement/

One of the surprising aspects of the NFL’s Thursday night press conference arose when the league mentioned that the owners approved a new supplemental revenue sharing plan. It was surprising because no one knew the NFL was considering a new supplemental revenue sharing plan.

Even more surprising was the concern expressed by NFLPA* executive director DeMaurice Smith in his e-mail to the player representatives regarding the owners’ supplemental revenue sharing plan.

“As you may have heard,” Smith wrote, “they apparently approved a supplemental revenue sharing proposal. Obviously, we have not been a part of those discussions.”

The NFLPA* hasn’t been part of those discussions regarding that issue because the NFLPA* showed no interest in that issue. All along, the elephant in the room was the league’s effort to fix revenue disparities by taking money back from the players. For reasons still unknown, the NFLPA* never pushed that issue.

So while there may be plenty of reasons to balk about the misguided power play that the owners have tried to pull, complaining about an issue about which the players previously didn’t care badly misses the mark.

I'm sorry, but they are turning the fans against them pretty damn well by themselves.

At least the owners are pressing the issue of importance, throwing out a time table because they want football back now, not tomorrow. I don't care if the NFLPA are hurt because they are feeling pressured, big fucking deal, you dick holes should have been feeling pressured through this entire process.

    ..but

"The NFLPA are not working on a time table, a deal will be done when it is appropriate. We are not going to be pushed into anything, blah, blah, blah.."

Are any of us supposed to feel sorry for these millionaires crying over money that they earn playing a game they love more then anything else in this world? Their jobs are only a wet dream to most of us, if not all of us.

It is crazy how frustrated I feel over a stupid game that I watch for entertainment purposes.

So by the NFL doing this, they are creating an agreement that isn't legal.

Congratulations, you are doing exactly what the owners want you to do: blame it all on the players and act like the owners are the ones on our side.

Guess what? No one is on our side.

I think even the owners thought they had a deal.

(And they still might some players are saying they just haven't fully seen the proposal.)

There disbandment was declared a sham.
And they have been negotiating this whole thing in the form of a cba. There not being coerced into anything. Which is the only way it would be illegal.

Ever since March, when this all started....the only message I got from this entire process is "the fans can eat shit".

Fuck the players, and fuck the owners. I'm tired of them forcefeeding us this shit sandwich, because they can't get their act together.

The last 4 months have been ridiculous.

I don't have a horse in this race but the players all sound quite stupid tonight. On one hand they are saying they need to read the CBA so they can understand it and make sure everything is good. On the other hand they are tweeting about how the owners have added all sorts of shit they didn't agree to. How does some idiot like Heath Evans have any idea what is in this CBA nobody has had a chance to read yet?

bullshit. there is no doubt the players have discussed with the owners recertifying, so it isn't a matter of doing anything against their will, simply demanding they do it in an acceptable time frame to save the season.

and it isn't as if a union is uncharted territory for the players -- they had a union and only de-certified it for leverage, not because they don't want one or believe they need one, as the repercussions of not having a union is far more harmful to the current players, so it takes an extreme amount of dishonesty to even remotely attempt to claim the owners are trying to force them to form a union.

worse -- they are fighting over our money and the money generated by our attention, and telling us to go fuck ourselves in the process.

Spot on. Complaining about being forced to form a union when everyone knows full well that that's the only way this thing works is disingenuous in the extreme.
