if edwards leaves i wouldn't mind sims-walker.if holmes leaves moore would be intriguing. i don't think theres any reason to bring 2 wr in if only 1 leaves.give kerle some reps. fwiw john clayton is guarenteeing either plax or moss in green and white
Lance Moore and Santonio Holmes aren't even close to being on the same level. Moore is strictly a slot receiver. That would be an epic downgrade, and I think Lance Moore is a pretty good wideout.
He said moore would be intriguing not that he as good as holmes. And I think he brings up a good point. Having a Receiver core of Braylon Cotchery Moore would be a nice core of wide receivers. You have a deep threat, a guy to make catches over the middle, and a slot receiver in moore who can make plays after the catch. Sure its no braylon holmes combo, but it wouldnt be the end of the world. We still have Keller. You can't get everyone the ball and with one of our wrs going he can get more touches.
Wilson reminds me of Corey Ivy, small fast guy who isn't amazing in coverage but would be able to hold his own in the nickel spot because he is agile. I think he would do a good job getting to the qb even with his small frame.
That's a shitty comparison, not surprising looking at who it's coming from though. Wilson was arguably the cover corner on the west coast in 2010. Kyle Wilson had a 50/50 shot at going in the top ten. We lucked twice: once when the coin landed on Joe Haden's side and again when Houston chose Kareem Jackson.
You hinted that Lance Moore would replace Santonio Holmes. That wouldn't be the case, because they're entirely different types of players. Also, I'd love to see a link to your claim that John Clayton is guaranteeing that the Jets will sign Burress or Moss.
Great posts. It sucks that the CS doesn't know how/if Ducasse and Wilson progressed over the off season. With that info, it could drastically effect how we prioritize FA's. Instead, we'll have to jump right in and pick up a #2 or 3 CB
I'd take that too. But i'm also hoping the rookie WR can come in and contribute as a #3 or 4 WR in year 1.
Antwan Barnes was someone ive been hoping for all off season. Outside of picking up a solid safety Barnes and Fabian Washington would easily be my top 2 (affordable) free agent picks by a long shot. Id be more than happy if we get one out of 2
no link. heard him on with stephen a. smith filling in for michael kay this afternoon on 1050. and yes moore would be filling a wr spot formerly held by holmes although i didn't mean to imply he would be replacing holmes' complete skillset.only that it would make for an intriguing wr corps where the top three would offer skillsets that compliment each other. i apologize for not making this clearer in my first post and will try harder in the future to be more informitive of my opinions, sorry for the inconvienence i caused everyone
I believe K.W. is ready to start...at the end of last year and into the payoffs he did a good job, Sanchez has been complimenting him at the team organizations, plus he was a damn good cover corner in college who just needed to get used to the speed of the NFL, which I believe he has. That allows us to resign holmes and edwards hopefully while letting cro walk, after that I would think we should sign a solid vet at CB (possibly one of the BAL ones), and maybe even dawan landry or matt roth
I'll take Locklear, maybe Essex. Both are used to running schemes. They'll fit in fine. A strong RT is needed for this running attack. The running attack is still top priority.
