at least we have a better chance at signing our WR's now and won't have to deal with him all of his children. Im not too nervous about wilson as long as we sign a decent vet, and who knows, now maybe we'll be able to sign Dawan

Interesting. I remembered him being announced as available, but I didn't think he'd lost the job in San Diego yet either. He started all 16 games for them his last year with the Chargers for what it's worth.

As far as the salary advance goes - it was just an advance, not a salary bump. Cromartie also denies asking for it, but he wasn't going to turn it down either.

Reliable and consistent aren't words I would use to describe Carlos Rogers. In six years, he's only played two full seasons. He's injury prone.

He had a very good year in 2008.

Wilson had a typical rookie year. We only seem to remember his first game.

I remember his last 3 where he did very well.

Cro is going to try to get every penny he can. He was lit up during his last few years as a Charger, and regained some value after he got to see every team's 2nd best WR for almost all of the Jets 19 games. So, he wants to get as much as he can.

At this point, I hope the Jets dont pay him. He is going to want at least 10 mil per year, and he is just not worth that. Either let Wilson play, and spend that money elsewhere, or go out and try to get NA for 12-13 mil.

Yeah most of the time when these guys want 12 million a year and say "I gotta look out for my family" they're full of shit, but when you have a national franchise chain I guess it's legit.

Nnamdi for $12 million? Not on this planet. I'd take Johnathan Joseph for $8-9 mill though.

I was speaking to his game play not his ability to stay healthy.

But his health hasn't been a concern since 07, he's been nothing but solid minus the starts he's missed. I've always felt like he's never got the credit he deserved by being overshadowed his whole career first by Shawn Springs, then by DeAngelo Hall.

If one of the three has to go I'd rather it's Cromartie.

    Is anyone watching Loud Mouths?

Schein also says Cromartie tossed Braylon right under the bus. Said that Cromartie said straight up when you compare and contrast the WRs, Holmes is just a flat out better teammate.

Did anyone hear this interview for themselves? If allegations are true-- sounds like Cro was not at all diplomatic or sugarcoating any topic based on these little snippets that keep getting reported.

I truly wonder how much money he's aiming for per year on average.

Now that's a problem. That's the kind of shit you say when you clearly don't want to return to a team that is going to resign one of those WRs..... but I agree with him.

In terms of mastering the craft, Holmes has done a much better job.

The Jets can do both better and worse than Cro. We'll see what happens.

Yes, see, I'm fine with most comments the players make about wanting to maximize their contracts, especially guys like Cro and Holmes, who are about to get their first big payday and haven't already banked $30M+ like Braylon has.

But... When you start making comments about one WR having the superior work ethic, being the better overall teammate, being the one who does anything asked of him, being the most clutch, being the best at trying to get on the same page with Mark, being the best in the system-- All things Cromartie allegedly rattled off today if all these different reports are accurate.... See, that all seems like an awful idea that does not bode well for team unity in the event all three big FAs come back, or various other scenarios.

And again, I don't begrudge Cro his opinion... Bart Scott made some very similar comments about Holmes vs Edwards "off the record" at a private lunch a couple months ago, right? And some member of the Jets went on record in that ESPN report a month ago anonymously saying Holmes was the best thing since sliced bread and they needed to get him back, too when asked about Holmes vs Edwards, but my problem is... That isn't stuff you can say to the public or the media. Like, keep that type of thing behind closed doors and "off the record" at the very least.

I just hope Wilson has really picked up some of the things that Revis taught him this offseason.
