I understand completely. The guy is one of my favorite players. But don't expect people to call him Catchery when he is top 10 in dropped passes.
I love JCo....but I guess I just take him for granted a little. He's a staple on this team. When your a Jet your a Jet all the way........:rofl2: ....ah yes....it's Friday.
Jericho is one of the most beloved players on the Jets. He's an all-around team player, he tries hard on every play, and he makes the other WR's better by helping them out when they're out of position. He's truly a team guy. He's also consistent... unless you count last year, when he wasn't... Shit, wait, why isn't this thread called "Why no hate for Cotchery?" hahaha...
1. What the FUCK is this shit? Did anybody care to read? 2. Cotchery can be a reliable WR, that's a given. He will never be neither Holmes nor Edwards calibre WR however - that's another given. Jets are trying to grab Edwards and Holmes together for a reason; both guys are capable of being #1 on any offense they go to.
I would like to know the stats on his dropped balls prior to last year, he has been one of the most sure handed WR I've seen in recent years.
To those idiots that think Jets can survive if we lose one of the Santonio/Braylon, think again. Cotch was our #3 WR. Do u guys know how many receptions our 4th, 5th and 6th WR had? 4th WR was Brad Smith. He had 4 receptions. 5th WR was Patrick Turner. He had 2 receptions. No other WR had any reception. #3 WR, Cotch, had 41 receptions. Jets can not survive if they lose either one of Santonio or Braylon, unless they find a replacement for them. One of them HAS to stay. If we lose one, Im fine with Cotch being our #2 WR and then we can find someone in FA to be our #3WR for a cheap price.
We did just fine in 2009-2010 without Holmes. Also, we did just draft a couple of WRs who have the potential to be decent slot WRs. If we lose Holmes, we could also bring in a FA like Chansi Stuckey to be our 3rd option. It seemed like he had a good chemistry with Sanchez, and I believe he caught Mark's first NFL TD pass.
I don't fucking know dude. I was just trying to prove a point, that no fan would praise a player for playing poorly.
We passed less than 400 times in 2009, compared to over 500 times in 2010. I expect that number to be around 520+ in 2011 as well. Basically, our passes increased by over 33%. (393:525). There is a huge difference. We had Stuckey for a few games and then Clowney. They had 25 catches on 46 targets compared to 87 targets for Cotch in 2010 with 41 receptions and a handful of drops. Do u really wanna rely on rookies to fill our #3 or possibly #2WR spot? Thats why we can not afford to lose either of them unless we bring in their replacements from the FA.
Love Cotch...but I'm not sure a superstar WR core really matters when you have a guy like Schotty running the show...jmo
