reporters think the cap will be around 130 with incentives. tanny just needs to get mark and others to restructure done deal.
No way Holmes is leaving us, for a number of reasons. . The Jets are on the cusp of a SB . Holmes knows the system . When FA hits its going to be a shitstorm . Hes said he wants to remain a Jet I know the love for SH isn't in the same bracket as BE, but do not underestimate what he brings to the team. He is undoutedly one of the elite WRs in the league, but also his leadership, enthusiasm and will to be the best are invaluable, especially to the younger core in the team, lets not forget that MVP award as well.
I think the Jets staff has the same priorities. I understand the Braylon love because he fits the mindset of the broad fanbase -- no big character problems while being on the team. Never said anything about the big contract, because he got it from the Browns. That's the difference. Holmes was a 25th overall pick. He hasn't gotten his big payday. I don't fault Holmes for wanting as much money as possible, even though in our eyes he should still get paid and want to win at the same time. IWhichever one of our WRs decides to go to a franchise that has losing seasons, they may be a little outspoken about the frustrating ongoings within that team. I'm not saying, I'm just saying. Their history gives me that evidence.
not saying this is fact, as it's Freeman's "blog" on cbs, but he's saying 120 mil http://mike-freeman.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6264363/30622346
no its going to be 120, but there is going to be some shit to allow teams to hit 130, because of the lockout fucking shit up w/ past contracts.
Where did you see that? EDIT: All I've seen is that there will be a potential one player $3 millionish exemption above and beyond the 120 [I'll call it the "come back Ellis or Pool" exemption] but nothing that would let players hit 130. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6...ers-players-moving-cba-settlement-source-says
I believe this also, he has no love for the Jets all though I think he will prove to show his love for green...
Thanks. That's a pretty big spread (120 v "feels like" 130). It'll be interesting to see who was right.
The last time people thought he was done he had maybe the greatest season in the history of the game for a WR.
If Holmes was an UFA on any other team, we'd all be like "Tanny!!! You GOT to get Santonio!!!!" So maybe fans of other teams aren't as dumb as we give them credit for!
For Holmes it's going to come down to whether he likes money or winning more. He already has one ring and he is looking for the big pay day he never got from the Steelers. -If he likes winning more then he'll probably stay with the Jets. -If he likes them both equally then it'll probably be a bidding war between the Jets and several other contenders. -If he like money more than he likes winning then Washington is a great fit for him.
I don't think Moss would be a terrible fit but he is older now. Can he still be the 'Old Randy'? Idk....
He looked like a complete slouch last year, his hearts just not in the game. He didn't make any disturbance in Buffalo and other than the texting/tweeting incidents he was pretty quiet in Cincy. I know what everyone wants to say, "he's old", "washed up" etc. but stats don't lie. He was 17 yards away from having yet another 1,000 yard season last year and only 171 away the year before that. Mind you, this is with a shook-up-hasn't-been-the-same Carson Palmer and a so so Fitzpatrick at QB. Prior to this he had three 1,000+ yard seasons with the Cowboys.
