Denver is a mess right now. McDaniels set that franchise back 3 years at least.

    Think Tebow can play.

Liked what I saw in a small sample size.

I think he can get it done. And I hate admitting that considering how much I dislike the guy.

    Definitely.

If you watch the video, the offensive staff asks Tim Tebow which play he wants to run... Tebow calls out the play, runs on to the field, and throws a touchdown.

In my opinion, that shows he already has the ability to read defenses.

I think it is extremely impressive that he was asked what play to pick, he picked the play, and scored on it.

That being said, that doesn't mean he read the defense. What if the first read isn't open?

In florida he was one read, if its not there run. And his throwing wasn't that great. Granted its still not great it has gotten alot better.

I was thinking what the Jets would be like if they had Tebow as a Quarterback (I am not wishing for this at all). Having a tough as nails qb who can run and occasionally through passes on a team who has a top notch defense and running game. It would be great for anyone who loves ground and pound.

That was the offense he was in. You're basically knocking him for doing his job, scoring touchdowns, and winning a ton of games.

Tebow's throwing wasn't great at Florida? Really? You can't knock him a productive passer, because he put up great passing stats at Florida.

His throwing mechanics and motion are very awkward, but that's been corrected by pro coaching. He was also knocked for not playing under center and he can obviously do that now too.

..so, you used to be able to knock his throwing motion and his inability to play under center. You can't really do that anymore.

People hate the kid, but he will work harder than basically everyone in the league to prove that he belongs. That's just like kind of mentality he has.

Tim Tebow is a dick. I look forward to the day he is found in a motel room with a dead hooker and three pounds of blow.

You always make this argument and I understand what you are getting at but there is a difference between being to read and react and not being able to read a defense. Tebow would literally just stare down his receivers for days. And yes he is now "able" to take snaps under center. I can take snaps under center and not be successful also.

once he starts being more consistent and he has able to take those three step drops from under center with ease we can talk.

I am more confident in him now than I was before but he still has a far way to go to being a great quarterback. Although I dont think he needs to be a great quarterback to be a successful quarterback.

No, you can't. We all know it's illegal to go under center in flag football.

    The Broncos are terrible.

What did you want from the kid during his rookie season? Tebow scored 11 TDs in the seven games the Denver staff gave him some playing time...he started the final three games. He was also only sacked 6 times behind one of the league's worst pass protecting lines.

Actually that is false you can take a snap from under center. And no I am not expecting stardom from him in his first year just like I didnt expect stardom from sanchez in his first year.

But you are blaming Florida's system for Tebow's ineptness at quarterback instead of vice versa

Nancy Kerrigan doesn't think John Elway's teeth are horsey enough.

    ...................

In this argument, you're the only one that thinks Tim Tebow is inept.

Urban Meyer's offense worked at the college level. It worked at Bowling Green, Utah, and Florida - why would he change it up? Tim Tebow was the perfect fit for that scheme - his skillset allowed Meyer to draw things up that will change the game forever.

That variation of the spread is all Tim Tebow knew before he was drafted into the NFL. Everyone in the world knows he's a huge developmental pick - if you're going to draft a player that needs work, he's that player.

I love how you talk about Tebow scoring 11 touchdowns to be so impressive for a rookie qb. Out of those 11 touchdowns only 5 were passing touchdowns.

Out of those 5 passing touchdowns
5 of them were his first reads.
3 were from out of the shotgun
2 of which were gimmick plays (fake runs were tebow does a jump pass or tosses it to a wide open fb)
1 of the 5 was a play action pass (he didn't even make a read just chucked it downfield that being said it was a beautiful pass)

    but my point remains.

Tebow didnt really improve as a passer this year. He definitely has the work ethic and attitude to be a great quarterback, but he hasn't proven he can read a defense at all, yet. If you watch his highlights 85% of them are out of the shotgun and 80% were his first reads. Most of his reads that he does make are all extremely elementary crossing routes or curls and corners, on the same side of the field against zone coverage. Making it simple for the quarterback.

Like I said earlier, I dont think this kid needs to be a great quarterback to be truly succesful but like my initial point I was making, I didn't like him as an NFL quarterback because of "his inability to read a defense". Which still holds to be true and is true by your facts that under Urban Meyer he was never taught how to read a defense.

He still is a rookie and most rookies if not all are not successful, but to say the kid did a great job because he scored 11 touchdowns (6 of which were rushing) is a joke.

My point is that in limited time on the field, Tim Tebow proved to be a scoring threat not only as a runner, but as a passer. Tebow executed on the plays that were called and you're trying to say he isn't playing the position right?

Guys like Tebow and Cam Newton play the position differently than the traditional quarterback. I don't see how fans can't grasp this concept.

...and did you actually just complain about a quarterback throwing a touchdown out of the shotgun? Tom Brady and Peyton Manning spend most of their time in the shotgun.
