From interview with Sandy Alderson in the booth during tonite's broadcast, it seems that KRod is all but set to be dealt. Unless they re-work his deal somehow....not even sure if that is feasible.

Gary Cohen posed the question (paraphrase), "do you see a scenario in which the Mets dont trade KRod and look to bring him back next season?"

Sandy responded, " i now really wish I did not stay around an extra inning to answer more questions." And then he hedged around giving any sort of answer.

It's Greg Gibson. Just a horrible call. A guy in the upper deck could have seen he was out. If this fucking game ends 1-0 then that's a travesty.

This is real nitpicking, but Turner swinging at a 2-0 pitch down 6 runs with the heart of the lineup coming up and Tejada swiping third base with two outs down by 6 runs with Beltran up at the plate?
This has been a sloppy game, guess they were due one...bases loaded with 2 outs down 6.....hey, you never know.

Gee pitched well again but his lack of an elite fast ball comes back to haunt him when he gets into the later innings. His lack of size mean he has to constantly rely on his changeup which once he starts to tire begins to hang over the plate.

Something a little different tonight - Bob Costas and Al Michaels will be broadcasting the Mets-Giants game together on the MLB Network, and since that is blacked out in both San Francisco and New York, they will be doing the broadcast on SNY for the 4th and 5th innings, with Gary Cohen and Ron Darling going over to MLBN at that time (Costas and Michaels will then switch with the SF announcers for the 6th and 7th innings before finishing up on MLBN).

Awesome shot by Hairston off Wilson to put the Mets up 3-2. Wilson's beard looks a lot like Peter Griffins beard when the birds were living in there...

The infield play, other than Tejada, is clearly Triple A. I doubt Duda/Murphy makes the play or sells the play the way Evans just did.

pat burrell, who's been a notorious met killer in his career, grounds out for the final out of the game. this win was big.

Impressive win for the Mets. By the way, IMHO, I thought Costas and Michaels were awful.

Also, gritty effort by RA tonite. Clearly he was hurting and he came out and pitched well enough to keep the Mets in the game against a weak hitting Giants team. he wont get the win in this game but he should.

there's just something about this team that makes them very watchable, moreso than i've felt over the past 2 years.

I could not agree more. It has been said before by a few posters other than myself, Collins seems to be the big difference. It is not like we do not have talent on this team. The fact that they are winning with guys who barely made the team or did not make the team says a lot.
