I never understood why they designed these things so people even have the opportunity to fall that far while you're in a seat that there's a decent chance you might get a foul ball / ball thrown to you.

They'll take care of that kid and the rest of that guy's family. Josh Hamilton will probably step up.

The Rangers actually seem like a really classy org. Just watched "This Week In Baseball" and saw they drafted a paralyzed kid from UG in the 33rd round to help him live his dream after a gnarley accident in the field.

Oh shit, I thought the fan dies reaching for a foul. Josh Hamilton threw him the ball?

If that doesn't cause a relapse nothing will. Josh can't catch a break.

It's a sad story that this 6 year old had to watch his dad fall to his death. Witnesses say the guy was concious and was yelling to take care of his son.

As far as them drafting the kid from Georgia a lot of teams use those picks to just fill out their rosters in rookie ball. Most of them don't even realistically have a shot to make it out of rookie ball but it's still a classy move by Texas.

Why the Cubs don't use Wood to close, I'll never know.

    Last 30 innings for Seattle:

    0 runs scored. Franchise record.

edit: ended at 30. Ichiro ended an 0/14 with an RBI single after Gutierrez singled and stole second.

Other big story was the huge blown call that gave the Braves a win over the Pirates in an extremely long extra innings game. Guy was clearly out at the plate, but ump called him safe. I think that's the only recent really long game I didn't watch. I saw the two lengthy Red Sox ones.

Also, Emilio Bonafacio just extended his hitting streak to 26.

Billy Butler hit a 3 run homer off Josh Beckett to give KC the lead. Hopefully another huge underdog comes through (on Monday, two big underdogs came through. SD@PHI and KC@BOS).
