He puts them in tiers of 5 and then lists them alphabetically. Basically he has group A, group B, then honorable mentions.

    Solid is a massive understatement.

Once again, statistically Fletcher's had a Hall of Fame career.

If you don't want me to compare their tackle numbers, I can compare them in pass defense - Harris struggles against the pass and Fletcher is very, very good in coverage.

...and to answer your question: I wouldn't want Fletcher over Harris in Rex Ryan's scheme and I wouldn't want Harris over Fletcher in Washington's. They're different styles of linebacker.

This inside backer list is a mix of 4-3 and 3-4 guys. In my opinion, the players Kirwan listed are more complete linebackers - they can cover and stop the run. That's why I have no problem with them being ranked ahead of David Harris. For example, Ray Lewis has almost 30 career INTs - Harris will never, ever come close to that number.

Just because I partially agree with his rankings doesn't mean I feel David Harris is a bad player - he's very good, a great fit in Rex Ryan's scheme. There's no way in hell he's a top five player at his position though...especially on a list that's this broad.

How the f@c% did you read my mind!!!? ^

and yeah you were right, the OLB list is way more accurate

The only other part I would comment on and it pains me to do so is London Fletcher, and I really don't want to say anything bad about him because I have always loved Fletch but he shouldn't be so high. Just 2 years ago and for years prior he should be on this list every season but he was always swept under the rug like Harris because he does his job and keeps his mouth closed, completely underrated most of his career it's a damn shame.

You're the one who is a Jet fan (supposedly) and is also claiming that Harris isn't a top inside LB. the lolz is on you.

What does being a Jets fan have to do with evaluating a Jets player? Are you saying you're not a true fan if you can look at your players levelheaded without bias?

Also, I don't think he said Harris wasn't a top inside LB, just that the one's mentioned were better.

Top 10-15 is still very good, there are a lot of inside backers starting in the NFL.

No, it's retarded. Even if all of the LBs who are actually ILBs are better than Harris Kirwan still wrote a shitty article.

Made the Pro Bowl in the past 2 seasons.

I would take Harris over Vilma considering I have seen both play for the Jets....Vilma can only play in a 4-3 and was ass in a 3-4. I think Harris is fully capable of working in a 4-3 and of course he blows Vilma away in a 3-4. If Vilma was considered an elite ILB/MLB, he would he beasting with the Jets when Mangini came in rather than look like a lost soul in 2006. Harris hasn't lost a step since being drafted by the Jets in 2007.

Really, you're putting Harris and Slausson in the same category at their respective positions? Really?

Harris is top 5, easy. Jet fan or not this should be recognized.

in vilma's defense,he had drob playing way out of position at the nose.the guards and center were consistently gettting to him before he could get in position.add to that mangini's flat out stubborness to adjust his system to the talent he had and there ws no way vilma could succeed here.i fully believe he would be a beast under rex

That makes sense. I was wondering how he could have Willis that low or have Hali as better than those other 4 guys in his group.
