So, it's okay for Chad Lovers to not let go and talk about this former Miami Dolphin, but when I point out the love for him is misplaced, you think it's me who can't let go. Got it.
Someone posted a news article with the latest on a guy who was a popular, longtime Jet and you have to keep grinding your ax, so yes. And thank you for pointing out your opinion again, in case anyone missed it for the past few years.
I was talking about the posters here like you still in the throes of Chad Love. Those talking about what a great coach he would be if only the Jets would hire him, that sort of thing. I made the point that he's not a Ryan kind of player, the Jet FO got rid of him, he has no track record, so why think he's coming to the Jet CS???? You didn't answer any of that, only to complain that I joined the discussion with a post that does not meet with your approval. Chad was overrated. He was NOT a great guy. He got let go which was a great move, he went to the hated fish - that means nothing? He made tons of money from the Jets with woefully small results. "Blocker is a Chad hater!" whatever.
Things wrong with this post: *I wasn't in this thread until the above post. *I never said Chad would be or should be a coach. Or not. *Chad was gone a year before Rex Ryan got here. *You're a hater, even three years after the fact. He's gone, let it go.
Where did I say that YOU were the one who talked about Chad being on the CS? I was explaining about why I said what I did. Chad's being gone before Rex got here has nothing to do with my point that he is not Ryan's kind of player as that relates at least somehwhat to whether he would by Ryan's kind of coach, PARTICULARLY since he has no experience whatsoever as a coach. And you're a Chad Fan, even after Chad played for Miami, two years, and was let go by the Jet FO. As long as I see threads with people fantasizing about him coming back to the Jets in any capacity, I will offer my opinion on that subject, same as they did, and you do.
I hope Chad does well. Got to meet him once a really nice person. He knows the game and is very articulate. I think he will do great.
And you will remain in the minority. Most Jet fans, as evidenced here, liked Chad and appreciated what he did while he was here. You want to continue to gripe about it and be a hater, picking fights with people, go ahead. I'm sure you'll find a reason to hate Sanchez too, if you haven't already.
we need to beat Henne more than once in 2 years for me to laugh honestly. I was a huge Chad Pennington fan in fact I named my son after him (James) in 2003. I really thought we had something going with him. Out of all his injuries I think the wrist in preseason 2003 was the worst. If you look back at that season we lost all ten games by no more than 11 points I think it was and by the time he came back our season was done. Could have been a different year with him healthy. I also think a lot of Jet fans are bluffing by saying they want him back and they miss him bla bla bla I hope they weren't part of the 60,000 booing him in 2007 after being injured or part of they 99% who wanted Favre so bad.
Just out of curiosity, were you actually in the building for this game? Because no one booed Chad when he got hurt and no one cheered the fact that he got hurt either. The media took that and twisted it beyond belief. People cheered when Kellen ran on to the field, but somehow people want to take that as fans booing Chad? What do you think it's some strange coincidence that the fans started cheering when the backup QB they've been waiting to see starts strapping up his helmet while running on to the field? And I've always loved Chad, but it was time to move on from him as the Dolphins found out just one year into his stint. He can't stay healthy and he's not the kind of QB that gets you much past the first round in today's NFL. He'll be a great announcer, I just wish it was on CBS and not that shithole FOX. I wish even more that he'd come back and be a QB coach...
I was there and while no one booed the injury they cheered wildily when Clemens came in which was essentially cheering the injury.
So if you're happy that Kellen Clemens was entering the game that means you were happy to see Chad Pennington get hurt? As a person who was not happy that Chad got hurt but was also cheering the 2nd year QB who we've heard so much about as he made his first entrance, I disagree with you. What were we supposed to do, sit on our hands?
I was there, I have been there every home game for 2 decades. There was no doubt people cheered for him getting hurt. Was it malicious hoping he would get hurt or just the frustration of ANOTHER Chad injury? It probably was the frustration but the building roared. We hadn't heard much about Clemens, he showed very little in preseason and camp his fuirst 2 years. people were not excited to see him play b/c they thought he'd become a good QB. What people are supposed to do is give a couresty clap as Chad goes off the field, roaring for the backup is a slap in the face to all Chad did for this organization.
junc lay off the Chad love please I'm gonna puke... if u want to marry him its legal now please go ahead. All Chad did for the organization was play scared in most every big game. I dont think cheering for an injury is ever a good idea, but the time to give up on hoping he'll sometime play with some BALLS (when healthy) was over and I understand why people cheered loudly for Clemens.
