That's how I've been approaching this whole thing, also why I haven't gone to the NYJ forum very much. I hate the long off-season but this year it's serving a purpose, giving them time to get this done without missing anything important. They had the draft, I don't get too wrapped up in the other stuff anyway, we get a few Jets article to read about practice, that's about it.

Of course laywers would fuck it all up.

Robert Kraft was right (yep, I said it) - if you take the laywers out of the equation, the deal can get done in a matter of weeks.

    naturally.

i mean its there job to make things as difficult and convoluted as possible so that when the chips fall theyre on top of the pile.

    lol.

glad to hear about legit progress though. i still think its 2-4 weeks before its done though.

Keep in mind that the deal doesn't have to be signed in order for the lockout to be lifted, they just have to agree on a framework.

    That is such bullshit.

It wasn't the lawyers who decided to have a lockout. It wasn't the lawyers who hired themselves. Clients have a responsibility to supervise whoever they hire, whether lawyers or anyone else you hire.

It is also quite probable that in drafting an enforceable agreement the lawyers may have reasonably pointed out things that the parties had not reached actual agreement upon. That is not the lawyers' "fault" - if they did not do that, they would merely be putting off a problem that should be faced now.

Now I am not saying a lawyer or anyone else might not run amuck if the client let's them, but that is often a matter of tactics and strategy, too.

It's classic good cop bad cop to enter negotiations and have the principle pose as the good and reasonable guy, but gee it's not really my fault that you have to address and give in to what my lawyer says.

Geez some of you guys know very little about how the business world works.

And the irony here is apparently that the lawyers actually did not derail the negotiations.

So let's say they had - and the principles had let them. Whose fault would that have been? What would the true intent of the principles be if they had let them?

Try to be a bit more sophisticated and look beneath the surface veneer.

Not only an attorney, but a very accomplished one with strong ties to our very own U.S. Government.

His Wikipedia page alone yields plenty of enlightening info and links.

Apparently it's not enough owners to really derail the progress. I'm still confident something will be ironed out soon.

If hes an attorney with strong ties to our govt, i have far less faith things will get done well than i did before.

Because most lawyers for our govt are fucking idiots.

Let us not pretend that the government of the most litigious society in the world is full of idiot lawyers. The government makes the laws because they understand the law.

You know what youre right. The lawyers in the govt arent idiots, since they pretty much, no COMPLETELY control this country even if it means running this country into the ground as long as they profit.

So ill say scumbag lawyers. Thats far more accurate.

My money is still on Brown and Wilson being in that group. Probably Jerry Jones as well.
