Season feels too short. I can't imagine the last episode only being an hour. It is going to feel like forever until the next season is released. And we still can't read the next effin' book yet!! This guy grinds my effin' gears!
A lot of the main characters get off'd in the first few books but the body count slows down as the story progresses (it would have to really or there would be no-one left) A bit like Walking Dead - the season seems too short though in the UK most series are only 6 episodes long so we haven't been spoiled like you guys with your 20+ episode shows.
I'm currently reading Storm of Swords right now. Easily the best series of books I've ever read. For those of you who have both watched the series and read the books, is this worth picking up on DVD? I don't get HBO so I've been unable to watch any of the episodes. However, I'm very curious to see how the book translates to television.
Its almost perfect the transition of books to TV...HBO was the best medium for those books. P.S. do some digging online, youll be able to watch the series certain places...The DVDs are going to probably come out during the holidays
ha- ty for the heads up. I actually prefer silent films, all the talking about shit drives me insane. One year someone gave me a audiobook, you can't imagine the rage I was feeling.
No you are. No breaks shall be given, I will gladly apply my palm to your face, asking for a open hand slap is a bit odd though. Good lord some of you defend this show like you wrote it. I'm enjoying the show and as I mentioned earlier I am so pissed because of the fucking be applied to Ned. (That means like mentioned by a previous poster I am emotionally invested in this series.) When I started watching this show I did expect at least a little action and blood. Why couldn't they show Ned getting his head cut off? I personally love that shit. If that is too much for you I suggest covering your eyes so your lovely innocence is not stripped from your facepalming hands.
It's gonna be hard to top this episode next week, even in the books the ending to the first one felt anti-climatic. Didn't mind the lack of battles at all, although the way they had Tyrion get knocked out was pretty stupid. To me the sword fighting stuff has been some of the worst most awkward parts of the show so far so I'm sure why some people are looking forward to huge battles. I mean you get all the information necessary about what happened in the aftermath.
you have to understand, HBO did not know what to expect with the ratings and all...I am sure they will beef up the action sequences into their budget, especially in Blackwater due to Ser Davos in the next season. I also think they will probably do 10 episodes for season 2 and 3, but for 4 they should combine books 4 & 5 and make it 16 episodes (6 episodes for book 4 and intertwine it with 10 episodes of book 5) Just gotta hope it makes it that long.
Big fan of the show but wish they could have at least shown one of the battle scenes from last night. It looks like a major war is brewing, I hope they increase the budget for season 2 so we can see some Braveheart style battle scenes.
I didn't mind the lack of battle, plus it was probably more like a routine slaughter, given it was what, 30K v 2K? As someone who hasn't read, I was pretty shocked last night. I kept telling myself, "they can't kill off the star this soon, right?" ...and then off with his head. I'd assume a bigger budget for next season, and a long wait. What's supposed to hold me over until Boardwalk Empire?
Clearly Ned was not the star of the story. It would be interesting to hear speculation from some of the non-readers as to who is the center of the story and/or who dies next.
Season 4 of Breaking Bad starts on July 17th. If I were you, I'd get caught up on this show when Game of Thrones ends. Besides Boardwalk and GoT, it's the best show on television. ...and in my opinion, it will go down as one of the best series ever.
I doubt this show will ever have a main character. There's just has so much going on and so many different characters to work with. Hopefully that little fag Joffrey dies next.
Joffrey the gay child model? Actually quite well acted by the young man, he has us all believing what a horrible little shit he is. Aya will kill him. Its actually very refreshing to have a show where 'main' characters don't live forever. I thought this latest series built nicely and laid the foundation well for the next series. Lock out and no more GoT, what will we do??
Not the central character necessarily, but Bean was the show's most accomplished actor. Well, your taste in TV seems better than it is in music, so I'll give it a shot
First off, I haven't read the books, so my guess is as good as your's... ...but when the Starks find out about Ned, don't you think they'll execute their new prisoner, the Kingslayer?
You might want to check out the actors bio's on the HBO site. Peter Vaughan is a very accomplished actor and been in a ton of stuff.
