By the way, they basically said that The Hobbit will be one movie. The second movie will be a bridge between The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring. That sounds beyond awesome! Any of the characters from LOTR could appear in the 2nd one.
I don't know whether this should be in this thread or the other: CATGALF NO!!!!!! Also: http://www.newkerala.com/one.php?action=fullnews&id=54021 http://www.stuff.co.nz/4501827a1860.html Serkis and McKellen confirm their returns. Don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but the director is Guillermo del Toro. That and more news here: http://council-of-elrond.com/index2.php
I just read that, I'm also extremely excited to see this movie. I think Del Toro is an excellent choice to direct since I'm a big fan of his. It'll be interesting to see how his style interacts with the Tolkien universe.
Wow, I liked what Del Toro did with Pan's Labyrinth, this movie should be visually fascinating if anything.
I'm astounded, given how paranoid the Tolkein estate is regarding rights, etc., that they are allowed to make this "bridging" movie.
They could make a whole movie with the Battle of the Five Armies. It is one of my favorite parts of all the Tolkien books. If done properly, it has the potential to be the greatest battle/war sequences ever put on film (fantasy or otherwise). With Toro directing, it's going to rock.
No spoilers please, but has anyone read, "The Children of Hurin"? That's on my summer reading list and was wondering if anyone read and enjoyed it. Pretty good from what I've read review-wise.

Was a much bigger fan of the LoTR books, as they were so much more epic. Still looking forward to this though. Great video to get the hype started.
