That game was a game in Sanchez' NFL career THATS THE TOPIC #### #####!!! Thanks for playing though... Carry on with your DB attitude.
To be honest last year I was terrified of Henne early in the year(2009). That first Monday Night game, yeah his running game was destroying us, so that helped him, but he made some big time plays that game. Then throughout the season I saw him making the same dumb fuck mistakes over, and over...Only to see it carry into the 2010 season. Chad Henne is not a starting quarterback. He needs outstanding run support for him to do damage. Right now he is looking like a top backup QB, to be honest. To say Henne, and Sanchez are basically the same means you are looking at statistics only. The progression Sanchez has made is ridiculous, and I have to say, I will no longer walk out of the room, if the Jets are down a score with 50 seconds to play. I dont care if that was the worst pass defense ever. That shit was amazing. Next year statistic wise Sanchez should be hitting the upper 58%-60% completion, and hitting in the low 20 touchdowns, with about 10 picks. I will sign up for that in 2 seconds. During this time, Henne will be struggling to keep his fucking job, unless Miami gets a Kolb, Palmer, Bulger, etc. If they get one of those 3, Henne wont play a snap. Btw I think one of those writers said Ryan Fitzpatrick is levels above Sanchez. how anybody can buy into that is mentally insane. This has to be a buzz to get traffic to a site. ESPN.COM always has jets/fin fans verbally abusing each other for weeks during these debates. after the NBA finals are over, sports is really going to suck ass. miss football.
Wow you guys really love to bitch about these articles. I saw this on ESPN and immediately knew that there would be a thread about it here. Honestly, even I will admit that this article is complete garbage though. Who makes a QB comparison based entirely on a bunch of different YPA metrics? And, yeah, that 2 year comparison is a little sketchy too.
What does this mean? Sorry if I'm not as insecure about my QB as most of you darksider fans are. I've sat through enough QBs in my life to know I have finally have a winning QB. I don't need KC Joyner or the Miami Herald dude, or the ESPN Miami beat writer, or a bunch of trolls to get my panties in a bunch like some of you. I sure as shit don't give a fuck about stats.
Who cares? It isn't like Sanchez is a stat machine, he doesnt need to be. Plus we all know Sanchez probably fucked Joyner's wife or daughter or might have had a threesome.................
It's like when people buy something, anything, and then they start looking for the same product in different stores to find out if they got the best price or if they messed it up. There's no point in comparing Sanchez to any other QB because you won't find someone on the same situation so you can't make an honest and fair comparison. You can compare stats, but everybody knows (should know) that they don't tell the whole story. The only question is: are we happy with our QB? if your answer is yes, then it doesn't matter if some other guy is having great seasons (in different situations), putting great numbers (in different situations) and getting more recognition. I wouldn't swap places because what we have is -so far- what we need for our situation, and we don't know how things would turn out for somebody else in here.
We know Sanchez has a giant blown-up poster of the "BROADWAY SCHMOE" headline the NYDN ran after he had the 5-INT game in his room, so that's probably a fair assumption.
But henne only had 1 dropped INT and Sanchez had 15:lol: Dropped INts is his big stat, coming soon "almost sacks". Vernon Gholston finally proves he was worthy of his lofty draft stus.
Now Henne? What the... NFL lockout means nothing to write about for these hacks, so they pick on Sanchez, which they think will wind up New Yorkers, thereby boosting interest in their simple minded babble.
The article like this is why Joyner is writing for BSPN, and not working for a real NFL organization.
Lack of love for Sanchez extends to video games. EA's new player trait system includes a 'clutch' trait. Sanchez doesn't have it, while Freeman does.
I think people don't give Sanchez his due over guys like Freeman, Bradford and Fitzpatrick is because he is supposed to succeed with the weapons he was given.
Number of game wise, right now Sanchez is ahead of where he would be if he had started four years in college and he has a bright future. He is still very young and has all the tools available to make a third run at the SB.
Yeah I accept that as the standard argument against Sanchez. Regardless of his supporting cast you would think that they would look at his record and give him credit for being clutch. I mean obviously it is just a video game and not a big deal, but I figure there's enough evidence to say he's been a fairly clutch player on multiple occasions for the Jets.
I don't buy that argument at all. If the talent is so good any QB could succeed, why not play Clemens, O'Connell or a cheap vet and save having to pay gajillions of dollars to a top 5 pick?
It's nonsense, there's no way we make the title game the last 2 years w/o quality QB play. One year you might be able to make a fluly run but back to back years? that's not hapepning. people get confused thinking you need a top flight #s QB to win and when they see mediocre #s they assume the player is mediocre-bad. mark was much better than his #s in 2010 just like other QBs w/ good #s were much worse than their #s.
