I have probably been living under a rock, but for those that didn't have this... http://www.facebook.com/officialmarksanchez
ESPN is terrible programming. If I want to be subjected to a media source striving to be bigger than their own subject matter, I'll put Fox News on the tele and pop down a couple of ludes to get me through the experience. Not to mention, their football analysis is of the most basic variety and should only appeal to the most casual of fans.
It likely stems from Lombardi having worked closely with Al Davis, whose hatred for the Jets borders on religious fervor. And I think it also likely that once Lombardi had leaked news of the Jets' intention to release Alan Faneca the week leading up to last year's draft, his sources within the Jets dried up quicker than an African desert after a drizzle in August. A small man such as Michael Lombardi would no doubt feel a heightened sense of dislike for the Jets in such a situation.
Mayock has no sense of humor? You're not watching closely then. And Mayock has a great sense of humor on Eisen's podcast.
What I was saying-- Or trying to say was that I like ESPN's crew better than NFLN's. Of COURSE NFLTA will have more information and in depth analysis than ESPN would- The channel is made to talk completely about NFL NEWS. I like the interviews and all of the coverage that NFLN has week in and week out, don't get me wrong- All the extra stuff you won't see on ESPN is definitely on NFLN. Just saying I like ESPN's crew better when it comes to analysis, and breakdown of play philosophy and games. NFLN's crew is 85% garbage.
Yes, I think anyone who read your posts on the subject could tell what you meant, even if you struggled mightily remembering the names of the NFLN analysts you were trying so hard to disparage. It's not that I don't comprehend your points. It's that your points are ill conceived. And your taste in coverage is not very good. But to each his own. Enjoy your ESPN coverage.
