Got it on order from Amazon as of 6 hours ago. From the 1 review that's been taken off the web (Guardian UK) this game plays like a really good tv-series. They gave it a perfect score and said it's a huge advancement in gaming.
I pre-ordered it a while back. ...won't be getting it at midnight, but I'll probably pick it up after work on Wednesday.
Decided to cancel my pre-order on this game as I feel it won't be worth the full purchase price of $60. Will probably rent this from blockbuster and finish the game in a week for a tenth of the price. Can't see there being too much replay-ability since it's more of a linear showcase of the new technology instead of the usual sandbox gameplay Rockstar is famous for. I'm guessing it'll be like Red Dead Redemption. It will bring great enjoyment for the time-span it takes to beat the game (about a week) but after that it'll retire to collect dust. I'd much rather rent something like that and put the $50 bucks left over in my wallet towards something else.
Hence why gamefly is there. If you play a ton of great games with no replay value, you can get so much more out of gaming...
wow really? i might cancel my pre-order. EDIT: Jesus, I didn't realize how decimated K Mart had been by the economy. There used to be two on route 22 now the closest is about 40 minutes away. Think I'll just pay the 60 to get the extra content that comes with a pre-order although that 20 bucks off and free game would've come in handy (im looking to pick up a greatest hits copy of Arkham Asylum as I never played it.)
I put in an extra 10 hours or so after completing the campaign but that was pretty much it. I did all the side challenges with the shooting/pelts and the flowers and decided to pack it in. I'm not one to replay a campaign multiple times. Gotta say though, the world of red-dead was awesome but once I ventured to the more interesting regions of the map, the idea of roaming around the desert bored me. Multiplayer wasn't very endearing either. Great game, just doesn't bring me back to it after beating the solo storyline and dicking around for a little after that.
There are so many ill games coming out. Dead Island Uncharted 3 Assassin's Creed 3 Twisted Metal Modern Warfare 3
IGN pretty much said its a really good game with a dissapointing ending. seems to be the Rockstar pattern of late
Red Dead had arguably one of the greatest endings ever in a game. Anyways been playing this game for a bit. Definitely a different type of game, feels fresh and the interrogations are pretty tricky. Although fans of constant action and heavy gunplay will definitely be disappointed, GTA this is not.
played for 45 mins. the speech technology is brilliant. it's def a prelude to where gaming is going closer to reality.
