So black text on white is hard to read? People really hate change huh? The old board couldn't stay that way forever, sooner or later a update to modern look and features were inevitable.
The new look is good, though it's going to take some getting used to. Seems like a lot of wasted space though. Case in point:
I'm used to this board layout from a couple of other boards I've used, it's OK but I'm not sure I prefer it. I completely support the idea of providing a paid membership option that removes the adverts.
That wasted space is due to the poster's avatar size. It would be as much wasted space with the old version as well.
There's missing bars on my work screen. The font color of the top (white) is on a white background. I have to highlight the entire of the top to see it. i.e. TheGangGreen.com Message Board > New York Jets > New York Jets USER CP All of that is white on white for me.
I don't see anyone complaining about the features. Some people just don't find the "modern look" very appealing. I'm a fan of change, just not this change.
How will you click on the ads gameday?? I think one of the appeals and longevity of TGG is that because it is free, it attracts younger people, than some of the stodgy other sites which do charge.
That should be in a black bar, that I could see being a problem. If you're at the office they might have certain things blocked.
I also liked it the old way better. I like how it says how many posts you have in each thread though, but the color scheme/size of icons and things of the new one doesn't appeal to me.
Sure - the model I'm talking about shows ads if you're using it for free, but removes them for people who have paid for membership. Best of both worlds - I already have avatars and signatures turned off, so it's the ads, smilies and pictures that draw attention in the office.
I like it. Very clean and has a more modern feel than the old design. Plus, I'm digging the new banner at the top.
That's what I thought. I just fixed it for IE 6. It doesn't look as good as in other browsers, but at least you should be able to see a dark background.
I can see the user CP area, but not the forum navigation bar. But honestly, no worries. I'm probly the only one using IE 6 here anyways
