That has to be the dumbest logic I have ever heard. People are talking about what should be done with him because he had an opinion different than the norm. Those who dislike Mendenhall can have an opinion, but let's look at what they are thinking about. Their feelings are hurt because Mendenhall shares an opinion that many people in America share, but is not advertised. Bitching about his words being stupid does not change the mind of a good portion of Americans either. It's just bitching. Another note, I say fuck all the endorsement deals as well. The money is not worth it. More athletes need to leave that endorsement money alone. Let these companies them pimp their own children for that bullshit. Stop walking around being a human advertisement for some unnecessary product. As long as athletes take the money their freedom will always come at a price.

You talk about him having the right to spew whatever he wants, and everyone here is agree with that sentinment, but those on here that don't agree with what he actually said are simply "bitching" in your eyes? Our opinion is not valid but just bitching, while his and yours is? As far as endorsements go, if you would open your eyes to the simple fact that some players make more in endorsements than actual contracts you will see that it is the athlete that wants the endorsements. You go ahead and tell them to get rid of that source of income. NFL players have a short shelf life, this is proven. Most contracts are short on guarantees, the players have to make the money while they can. I can also see that you are in the "corporations are evil" group as well.

i have no problem with what mendenhall said and would hope that instead of snap judgement of it that people would think a little bit about what he said.

considering you don't even have the slightest grasp on what logic is, you should probably avoid attempting to critique its execution by others. the fact that you can't even dispute the accusation of your own hypocrisy, which is a pretty conclusive indicator of an illogical argument, and in your case an inability to formulate an logical thought, only validates my post, and thus the logic of it. whether anyone agrees with him is irrelevant. pedophiles agree with one another's sexual preferences, but that doesn't validate it, it simply means f'ing idiots have other f'ing idiots to keep them company, none of which has any relevance to the concept of freedom. either the freedom you defend for him applies to the freedom of others to criticize him, and thus you have no ground to criticize them without contradicting your own position, or freedom only means how it is used logically in this country -- the right to avoid prosecution for your beliefs, not social persecution.
I'd rather people who attempted to defend him actually grasped what he said before defending him rather than simply thinking being contrary is the same as being enlightened.
