Yeah your right. QBs are like stocks and bonds that will appreciate and pay dividends as the years pass. The Patriots selected Mallett to be groomed into Brady's heir apparent. You think that Matt Cassel was drafted so they could trade him for a first round pick in the future? He was a possible successor to Brady and unfortunately Brady got injured and Cassel had to play. Which ended up working out nicely for the Pats. To say the Patriots were trying to repeat their luck by Drafting Mallet to trade later is asinine. A players value doesn't increase on the bench. He isn't a piece of fucking collectible art.
Brady has what another 6-7 years left on his career ? do you think they drafted mallet so that he will never play a snap until AFTER he renews his contract ? LOL I actually gave our draft a C, mostly because I don't think we addressed all of our needs. I think if Free Agency was in place, it would make more sense to me what our front office is doing.

TBH, I liked the pats drafting Mallett as Brady's replacement. I seriously was starting to fear the pats going Ditka to get Luck in next year's draft.

I remember years ago I actually had a subscription to TSN. Each issue had at least 1 article that had me scratching my head, but it was a good deal. Then I read an article explaining how Marcus Vick was going to be a better pro QB than his older brother Michael. I called up and cancelled my subscription immediately.
