    We should be amped guys...

Wilkerson will rotate possibly with S. Ellis at LDE.
Pouha, DeVito and K. Ellis will rotate at the NT and RDE position keeping each other fresh.

Someone between Dixon, Pitoitua, Gilbert, Tevaseau etc will make the team and compliment those studs...

Now we'll all see how important the DL is for the LBs to actually make plays. And I'm betting they'll make a few themselves...

We're building the future of this franchise... CAN'T WAIT!!!

Now temper the expectations for these guys a little, remember they are rookies, in a lockout, without the ability to get playbooks and coaching and get on a professional strength and conditioning program.

They will be good players in time, but the lockout is going to lead to what I think, league wide, will be the weakest class of contributing rookies ever. the longer the lockout goes, the worse it will be. If things don't get started until July every incoming rookie is going to be at significant disadvantage.

I'm also very pleased. Jets need that pass rusher now. Maybe through draft, trade or free agency ???

Well sure I'm not saying they will be dominant from day one... but I think we are building a very nice DL for the future of this franchise so I'm amped!

And if we don't get a full camp, I'm glad we're not trying to start a 'skill' position high draft player (Carolina).

love the pick, and agree with others in thinking that we're building the franchise from the trenches. This could be analogous to the Brick/Mangold draft, but on the defensive side. (Even if Ellis/Muhammed don't turn into perennial pro-bowlers - like Mangold - this draft could still be a huge success).

I also like the fact that while we need a pass rusher we didn't reach for Ayers/Houston in round 1, and instead drafted players that will make the overall defense better.

However, both guys are small school guys, and as such, may need some time to get up to speed.... we may need to be a little patient here...

Jets finally have size, youth & talent up front. Great building blocks. Now lets just keep adding to it.:beer::beer:

The last 2 years our high picks have always been small school guys... hopefully that doesn't bite us in the ass.

Those are some big boys, gotta feel good that they are also at a positions that you can transition pretty quick to being productive for your team unlike a skilled position.

2012 is going to be a good year for the city!!!

I'm lazy and don't want to look, but how many DL did we keep on the roster last season? I think it was 8, and I'd imagine it's the same this year.

Who would ever have guessed the Jets would take 2 defensive tackles? I was trilled with both picks, but somewhat amazed at the same time.

We replaced Ellis and Jenkins in 1 draft, potentially.

If those players work out we'll be the top defense in the nfl for years.
