Yeah I know, only the first round is gone not the other 6 but lets have fun with this.

Seeing who is left in the draft and the value that still could be around what is your mock for us for the rest of the draft?

Just name the players and round and will get a nice discussion going...

Obviously with our first pick we have

    1. Muhammad Wilkerson, DT, Temple

    3. Marcus Gilchrist, FS, Clemson
I dont think Deunta or Jarret will be there, Gilchrist has the best chance at that back end 3rd spot. Fluid hips, can cover the slot, pretty fast, can tackle, and plays solid man to man. He'd be a great pickup

    4. Bruce Miller, OLB, UCF
WE NEED A PASS RUSHER STILL! This is the kid plain and simple. Great for situational blitzes and get to the QB with force.

    5. Ronald Johnson, WR, USC
Great hands, solid speed, hard worker, and Sanchez knows em. He'd be a great WR for the #4 or #3 spot.

    6th. Keith Williams, OG, Nebraska
Hell of a run blocker, needs grooming, could be a nice project for Callahan.

    7th. Ryan Hill, CB, Miami
Underrated CB at Miami, can play safety, corner, and tackle on special teams and IMO can cover the slot. Another solid project.

Yeah this is all too soon most likely but have fun with it guys, we already know our first pick so who do you think we target next? And what rounds?

Would love to see what everyone thinks.

Would be happy with Gilchrist if Carter, Moch, Jarrett and Ellis are gone.

I'm not big on Bruce Miller, but he may be the best pass rushing option for the Jets at that point, but I also like Gabe Miller & Ugo Chinesa (sp?) as OLB prospects in the 7th round.

I think the Jets need to add an NT prospect, so I'd rather they add either Ian Williams, Chris Nield or Anthony Grey at some point.

There are several WR prospects I like better than Johnson: Kerley, Denarius Moore, Salas, Aldrick Robinson and one could possibly be had in the 6th. I'd also be interested in Michael Galatas in the 7th or as a UDFA.

I also like Malcolm Smith as a LB prospect.

    1. Muhammad Wilkerson, DL, Temple

    3. DeAndre McDaniel, S, Clemson

    4. Jeremy Beal, OLB, Oklahoma

    5. Cecil Shorts, WR, Mount Union

    6. Zach Hurd, OL, Connecticut

    7. Josh Bynes, ILB, Auburn

(Steven Friday is another option I'd love)

This sounds pretty much ideal for me. If all of the 2nd-3rd round safeties are gone in the 3rd, I would also be a fan of using one of the later picks on Eric Hagg to fill that need.

No safeties and only 1 OLB taken in the first. That leaves plenty of room for ONE of them to fall to our 3rd.

These are they guys who are still on the board:

    OLB-
    Brooks Reed
    Akeem Ayers
    Justin Houston
    Martez Wilson
    Jabaal Sheard
    Sam Acho
    Dontay Moch
    Chris Carter
    Jeremy Beal

    Safety-
    Rahim Moore
    Deunta Williams
    Tyler Sash
    Marcus Gilchrist
    DeAndre McDaniel
    Quinton Carter
    Robert Sands
    Aaron Williams
    Joe Lefeged

This is no particular order but with all these guys left there a good chance we can get one of them, especially with the Talent and QB's still available.

    Jarrett & Black

My two favorite safeties in this draft class, and you neglect them.

    So sad... :(

Well.. I like Culliver to, but still. :)

I cross my fingers for one of the first 8 OLB's you named to fall to us in the third. I never realized how many FS and OLB there are and one should drop to us.

Honestly, I know Tanny...I'd say the Jets trade the rest of the draft to get Ayers.

Rex will also persuade him because the Jets are a few defensive pieces away from a SB appearance.

If we stay put in the back of the 3rd round and none of Sheard/Houston/Acho/Reed/Ayers/Moch are left on the board, I'd really like to nab Beal in the 4th or later while grabbing the best available safety in the 3rd. Despite his incredibly crappy draft season, the guy showed at school that he can get to the QB and I think is worth a pick at that point in the draft.

After thinking it over for the night, I really don't think that it would be worth trading up to get any of those guys in the 2nd. Stay put and get our faller. Other teams appear to be mentally challenged, so someone's bound to come down the board to us.

Barring a trade up, I think we aren't going to get any more instant impact players this year. Can still get some good developmental guys though. They can't all be day 1 starters I guess.
