Sorry, Johnny, that you didn't get Ayers, but I am VERY happy with the Wilkerson pick. I like him better than Heyward and think it was the best choice they could have made considering where they pick. Might be better even than a trade down. I'll be unhappy tomorrow if they take either Deunta Williams or Quinton Carter. I want an OLB even if they have to trade up in the 3rd to get one. Barring that, I'd rather have Jerrell Jernigan than either of those two.
I wanted Ayers there badly but no need to apologize about Wilk. He could easily be the next Richard Seymour/ Ngata in our defense. I want a OLB as well, maybe Martez Wilson or Moch falls? and SOMEHOW we get him? If not Id be very happy with Jarret or Deunta and Bruce Miller in the 4th.
Wilk, isnt a sexy pick by any stretch. Wilk should be a good player. My only concern has to do with level of play. It was pretty clear that Wilson and Vlad last year had their difficulties against pro competition (though with Vlad it had more to do with technique). I'm not saying that Wilson and Vlad are the rule, I hope they are the exception. Now that is out of the way, the Jets HAVE to get at least TWO rush linebacker prospects. Hopefully one in the third, and if Moch is available the Jets should take a long hard look
