Yes - Ellis played his ass off for at least 1 year deal last year, and is a perfect mentor and QUALITY depth on the front 7
Mmm... more likely we keep Pryce, he'll be way cheaper and we now NEEd to re-sign Cromartie and one between Edwards/Holmes
I think you need Holmes for sure, would like to keep edwards as well but probably tough to keep both. Time for bed, work in AM. Have a good night guys and gals.
Pryce was leaning towards retiring from everything I read... Ellis WANTS to be here, and his performance last year kind of warrants it.
In terms of personality Pryce is the better mentor... however Ellis has been a Jets his whole career and should get a chance of finishing it here. But he's had a banged up knee for a couple of years...
I know some wanted the OLB, but we needed to invest some more on our D Line... You need some quality up front to leave room for the linebackers to roam.... Think to when the Pats D was at its most dominant..... Seymour, Wilfork, Ty Warren.... all first rounders..... Love the pick. I would have been happy with either Wilk or Heyward...
we shouldnt be trading up. If this day (coupled with last year) has taught us anything, you don't have to trade up to get value in the draft. You will always get a faller. Especially when teams are desperate for QB's, and you aren't. Wilk is going to be a great player in NY, hopefully he can come in and be a big part of our rotation right away. Look for us to get a secondary player in the 3rd, all eyes should be on the safties like Deunta Williams and Jaiquawn Jarret. If a pass rusher slips, I wouldnt be shocked to see us take one, but everyone of the second teir guys will be long gone before the start of the third, much less the end of it. Acho, Sheard, Reed, Houston, Ayers should all be taken by the end of the second.
