How far is this guy going to fall? I guess the knee is a big deal. I never would have imagined him falling out of the top 10, now it seems like a certainty. I can't help but wonder if some team in the middle of the first is going to get a steal with this guy, considering many had him going #1 not that long ago.

Unless Prince is there I think he'll be a Detroit Lion.

If Bowers ends up there and lives up to his potential, the Lions will have a nasty D-line with him and Suh.

If he goes after pick 10 then some team is getting a ridiculous steal.

    http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nfl/203459/report-bowers-has-bone-on-bone-condition

NFL Network's Albert Breer has spoken with one team in the top half of the draft that has taken Da'Quan Bowers off its board completely.
The team's doctors failed Bowers, and Jay Glazer is reporting on NFL Network that Bowers does indeed have a "bone-on-bone" condition in his knee. Speculation around the league is that Bowers will be a "one-contract" player due to long-term concerns about the meniscus. The Bucs at 20 are a popular mock choice, though GM Mark Dominik has hinted that the Patriots are a team to watch. That may be optimistic at this point.

JetsUK is right... unless someone discovers a miracolous cure for growing back cartilage it's no sure thing Bowers will be a steal.

I have a couple of friends that had to stop the sport they were practicing because they totally wore down their cartilage... I have a hard time believing it will be different for Bowers. Especially at a position where explosivness is crucial!

Very boom or bust potential with this guy.. I'd probably stay away from him.. bone on bone is serious, especially for a guy who relies on explosiveness and quickness off the edge.

If you get him past 20 who cares if he's a one contract player? If he's a double digit sack guy for that contract you may win a sb

I really just don't understand why everyone's sooo panicked about what he'll be ten years from now. This kid was a monster last season, if he can come in and be a dominant player for you for 6 or 7 years, he's going to make more than good on the investment. The chances of him staying with team one after that amount of time are slim as it is.

Its the fear of a micro fracture surgery in the near future combined with some very so-so workouts. People want top 20 picks to be franchise guys for a decade, not 4 or 5 years.

But because of free agency/contract negotiations it doesn't always work out that way. If he ends up retiring think of it as him leaving as a free agent cus you didn't have the cap space to sign him and enjoy the 5 years he terrorizes quarterbacks for you.

At this point let's see a Bowers-Fairley-Suh-Whatever front in Detroit...

Could you imagine if the lions drafted him in round 2? the potential of that DL is amazing. That said, they really should be looking at some OL help to make sure Stafford can stay upright...

I really don't think a degenerative, bone-on-bone knee condition is going to take 10 years to manifest debilitating effects on someone who is playing professional football.

He wasn't worth the financial investment in the first.

I feel bad for Bowers.. not long after the season he was talked about as a #1 pick.. then after all the knee stuff he's not even a first rounder. Lost himself a truck load of money.

In the 2nd round I think he is worth a shot.
