So I guess Ayers is the odd man out? Or will they move Dumervil(or can they?)? 2 undersized DEs on paper doesn't sound too well...
The value chart isn't always adhered too. If Cincy really wants to move down, they could cut Atlanta somewhat of a deal, and let them off the hook for next years #2 if they throw in a 4th or 5th in 2011. Or they could just make it for the top 2 this year and next Atlanta keeps all their other picks... It can be done, but its definately going full Ditka. It might be cheaper to get up to 6 for Jones, but if you are going that high, might as well go all the way and get the best WR to come out in years...
I've been saying this for years (seriously, years) now, AJ Green is the best wideout prospect of the last decade. Atlanta is already a relatively young team with limited holes. If they feel like Green is the missing piece, then I can definitely see them giving up future picks. That's a team on the verge of greatness. They aren't going to have a high pick unless some fluke injury happens. They're building around Matt Ryan. Like Rex Ryan, Mike Smith feels like he can put a decent enough defense on the field to win - free agency will be how they fill holes if this trade up happens.
The value chart isn't strictly adhered to, but there are no deep cut discounts, and there's no way the deal can get done without exchanging at least 5 picks for the 1, and one of those picks being the 1st next year. Most of the flexibility for value in draft trades comes from player exchanges. You can value players however you see fit. No chance they do the deal for anyone but AJ Green. Just seems like too much to give up to me with what they've been trying to build for the future down there.
I can't agree with the Broncos decision to draft Miller. They already have their pass rusher (Dumervil) and there's no guarantee that Miller will fit their scheme. Dareus is the no-brainer pick for them and they look prepared to screw it up.
Per Rotoworld: Hopefully they'll give up that 33rd pick to move up. I think D'Brick will have a great time owning this guy for a long time.
"The Patriots need a pass-rushing 3-4 defensive end, and Jordan is arguably the best available. " what?
I'm not defending Rotoworld, but I'm sure there are people that rank Jordan over Watt. If you're referring to the "pass rushing" part, I agree that that doesn't make sense.
It was the first part of the sentence that made him say that, not the second. edit: beat me to the edit
No, but that would make me happy. I have a feeling Bowers was a one year wonder in college. I guess we'll see. That knee seems to really be scaring teams away from this kid, but he could be a stud. Hard to tell for me. To many question marks for this kid.
That's interesting. I've heard before that they might be trying to trade up for a pass rusher. Definite smokescreen.
The Pats getting Cam Jordan would blow, but if they give away the 33rd pick in doing so, I'm fine with it. We really need to hit on this pick. I still don't know how I feel about Akeem Ayers. Can someone here try to sway me on him? I like Brooks Reed, don't love him.
Odds are the Pats could get Cam Jordan staying where they are. If they give up the 33rd pick to be certain of it, I'm ecstatic.
