4 or 5 would be my guess. I could see 6 going on an outside chance, but I'd guess Newton, Gabbert, Dalton, Kaepernick all go with Mallett an outside chance if a team likes his upside at the end of Rd 1. I'm hearing the Locker to Seattle talk, but I still think he slips and they go for Kaepernick. I'll probably be wrong LOL.
Andy Dalton is more than likely going in the first round. There's definitely going to be at least three QBs selected. The QB needy teams will get antsy and move into the mid-to-late 20s and that's where the number will jump to five or six. Colin Kaepernick deserves to be selected over guys like Ryan Mallett, Jake Locker, and Christian Ponder.
What's the record? I said 6 or more because it's a realistic possibility with all these QB needy teams. EDIT: I just checked and the record is 6 (1983). That number could be matched tomorrow.
LOL! LaCanfora is "hearing" 3 in the top 10, including the pervasive "Dalton at 8", followed by Kaepernick to the Phins. He also "hears" when Taylor is gone, we'll pass on Ayers for Marvin Austin.
I'd be pissed if Colin Kaepernick went to the Dolphins. I'm sick of rooting against that kid. Also, I wouldn't be upset if Marvin Austin was the pick. The kid's got a ridiculously high ceiling and untapped potential. He's flying up boards. I have a feeling the Bears will take him though. The year off scares the hell out of me, but if anyone can motivate this kid, it's Rex Ryan. Picking at 30 sucks. If we could trade back just a few spots, so many of these talked about prospects would make so much more sense.
i fail to see how Marvin Austin is a good fit here... whats the Jets motto? Quality of Play and Quality of character or something like that... I'm not sure austin fits our scheme anyways... I doubt dalton at 8, i really do. I however would not be shocked to see Miami take Mallet at 15. There entire fanbase is screaming for him. I hope they do it I really do... I actually would worry if they drafted kaepernick... hopefully they aren't smart enough for that.
Incredibly athleticism for a guy his size, plus he's very versatile. A lot of posters are spooging over Muhammed Wilkerson. Austin is a similar prospect. Braylon Edwards, Santonio Holmes, and Antonio Cromartie worked out fine. This staff doesn't have problem with troubled guys. Austin fits in any scheme. When it comes to the draft, nothing really surprises me anymore. Like I said yesterday, if a team likes a player (especially a quarterback), you need to take your guy. I hope Miami takes Mallett instead of Kaepernick. Same here.
