Locker was considered (one of) the top QBs last season, probably a #1 overall.
Then he decided to stay one more year in College.
Now he's barely a 2nd round player in the eyes of many.

Something similar could be said about Leinart (and Bradford, although technically he didn't played that season).

Is Luck risking something similar to happen to him next year?

    if yes, why?
They get over analyzed? they miss their moment? they get cocky? rivals game plan better for them and make them look bad?

(also how different would've been Mark's story had he listened to Pete Carroll?)

No, locker never won in college. Luck did nothing but win and is way more accurate .

True, but Locker is going to have a new HC and probably new OC and new system. The team may not win next year under their new HC. I think there is some basis for comparison.

Luck actually looks like an NFL Pocket Passer. Locker looks like a solid player with upside.

    two completely different players.

Luck wouldve been number 1 this year i dont see him falling anywhere out of the top 10 unless he magically turns to shit without Harbaugh

No, Luck is risking nothing whatsoever unless he gets injured. Locker was evaluated as a high ceiling unpolished prospect. Luck is evaluated as a polished pro system QB. I mean no offense to you, but I find this thread incredibly offensive.

You mean Luck, and his new head coach is his old offensive coordinator. The system won't change and his personnel will be even better.

Yes, any time a player returns to school he risks falling in the draft. Lots of players (particularly quarterbacks come to mind) mostly just because another year in the spotlight means more reasons to pick at problems, more risk for injury, and more risk of bad play.

That said, even when Locker was first eligible last year, he had the same problems he had his senior year. In addition, Locker "burst onto the scene" his junior year people gave him the benefit of a doubt he would improve with another year. He didn't improve. Luck on the other hand has greatly improved since his freshman year, and that says a lot especially since his first year he basically came second to Toby Gerhart.

It's hard to say with Sanchez, I dont want to say he would have regressed, but he probably would at least have USC superb talent to make sure he didnt fall too much. Though Sanchez could have put his knee at more risk

^This. Locker has always looked at his best on the move. Luck is a pure pocket passer and as was stated will only hurt his status with an injury.

Totally different situations. Locker was crazy hyped but honestly never really looked like a top ten player. Luck has looked like a #1 pick since he first stepped onto the field. Barring injury he'll go 1st overall whenever he decides to leave, he's just an absolutely outstanding QB prospect.
