From the sounds of things, at least Leaf never gave up, I remember him giving it another go with the Cowboys. Looks like Russell is one and done.

Russell wins out over Leaf, especially if we're looking at the decision making of the teams that drafted them. The Chargers were second in a draft with their biggest needs on offense. They were 1st in yards against in 1998; defensively they had filled holes through FA and suffered as far as points against because of the field position Leaf gave them. That draft, however, was perhaps the worst one for QBs in recent memory if you remove Peyton Manning. The next QB taken after Leaf was Charlie Batch who was waaaaay down in the 2nd round. They desperately needed a QB and a RB, and they picked up Natrone Means to fill the latter. Their only choice was to roll with Ryan Leaf. The Raiders, on the other hand, were terrible across the board in 2006 AND 2007. They really should have taken Joe Thomas as they ended the Robert Gallery experiment, but instead they took Jam. They could have stayed put in the 2nd round and grabbed Kevin Kolb to develop. It was a shit draft strategy that most people saw through immediately.

Ryan Leaf in 3 NFL seasons: 4-17 record, 48% comp., 3666 yds, 14 TDs, 36(!!!!) INTs. Jamarcus Russell in 3 NFL seasons: 7-18 record, 52% comp., 4083 yds., 18 TDs, 23 INTs. Adding in all the outbursts and negativity in the locker room, Ryan Leaf wins biggest bust in a landslide. The only thing in Leaf's favor is that he was the 2nd pick in the draft not the first like Jabustus.
That is a fucking graveyard for QBs residing on that list. Holeeeee Shit! Fucking Tyler Thigpen might be the best QB on that list.
