Jets have 'definite' interest in Randy Moss Source: Boston Globe Apr 12, 12:33 AM "Several" league sources tell CBS Sports that the Jets are strongly interested in free agent Randy Moss. This report comes a day after the Boston Globe noted Rex Ryan's fondness of the player he termed "a great vertical receiver." Multiple "league insiders" also tell NFL.com's Vic Carucci that the possibility of New York losing at least one of free agents Santonio Holmes, Braylon Edwards, and Brad Smith is "very real." Moss, 34, could be a short-term stopgap if the Jets lose one of the latter two. They'll make every effort to retain Holmes. Per rotoworld
I'd really like to stay consistant on offense and get Sanchez to a greater comfort level with his WR's.
Its likely no coincidence this came out shortly after the holmes comments. Its the jets responding with a yaaaawn, there are options at wr available to us. Sent from ... FU KOZ
This. I would't mind picking him up for cheap, like 3 million cheap, if we can't sign the flight boys. Though, James Jones might be a better option at this point to replace Braylon, while a speedier guy should replace Holmes.
Greg_A_Bedard While I said keep an eye on Randy Moss to the Jets, @realfreemancbs and @viccarucci both reported the Jets have definite interest.
if he came at a bargain to replace Holmes then i wouldnt have a meltdown over it. we know hes got some gas left like moose though, that being said if James jones could actually be acquired id go that route.
Eh why not... Moss' biggest problem is motivation and with Rex that should be taken care of. It would also give us some flexibility in who to re-sign and at what price.
Bumpity, dump. There has to be better options for this team to look at other than Moss at WR. There's a reason he is being passed around the league like a bad case of herpes. And the regret that follows it.
Who cares if he was a "cancer"? Remember that Braylon and Holmes both had that label before they came to the Jets. The difference is that they're with Rex now. I actually think his skill set is perfect for the running-style team we want to be. If he and Braylon were on the field at the same time, you force two deep safeties making the run that much easier. If it's just one safety, you just put them both deep and you get a one-on-one somewhere. It's not rocket science.
Tanny leaves no rock uncovered. I think for the right price Rex and Tanny would undoubtedly bring Randy Moss here to stretch the field. Like Mambo said Moss would be playing for Rex, one of the best motivators in the league. I don't think Moss would be a problem here.
