Who gives a crap? Lots of people here like Jerry Hughes or Larry English or some other bust. Gholston was young, had top physical tools, blew up Ohio States sack record which was held by a very good NFL player...Not really a whole lot to dislike...in hindsight we can use the motor knock or the love of football knock but guys like Mario Williams have had those knocks too...He wasn't some 24 year old 5th year senior with OK but not great production who had a good week and threw up a strong workout to jump up 2 rounds.
How? Based on what? His weight, and how fast his 40 time was with that weight? When we are talking about the only two options at 30, Ballard or Reed, yeah instincts and a motor matter. Ballard has bad technique, plays soft, bad instincts, and he got taken out of plays by college OL on a fairly consistent basis. I am convinced if he was to play the 5tech, he will get overwhelmed. Reed would bring this team a lot more pro's then con's. Especially if the only two candidates were between these two draft prospects. Do you think everyone relies on youtube highlights to come to a conclusion about a player? Really? Thanks for assuming that's the only place I've seen Ballard play in games. To be honest with you, I haven't even seen any youtube clips on him. lol Reed at 30 makes way more sense then Ballard at 30. This shouldn't even be an option. Reed brings a lot of things to the table, he has a lot of potential, and he displays a lot of the qualities that we are looking for in our 3-4 pass rusher. Ballard isn't an option because of things I've listed prior to this, and because there will more then likely be much better options at the 5tech at 30, then, Ballard. Your combine numbers don't mean shit in the NFL, what school you come from and how big it is, doesn't completely define a player either. All we have to do is look at VG to realize that.
Typo. Liked. Iirc you liked Hughes more than I did. It doesn't make you a bad draft guy if you missed On a guy.
Reed, at his best, makes as much if not less sense than Ballard at 30. Ballard is bigger, more refined, more athletic on tape, and helps fit a need with a potential long term starter.
Then I guess Cameron Jordan should have stayed at the mid 20s if stocks aren't allowed to rise. And Jerry Hughes was a punchline around here. English was more than less liked on here.
Wow, your argument is horrible, bro. I can't even debate with you because you honestly don't have any idea what you are talking about. I mean, you do realize your argument isn't making much sense, right? You are trying to compare the two in the worst ways possible, they don't and wont play in the same position to begin with. Pfffffftttt.... lol I didn't say he was the most elite technician in this draft, he has far better technique then Ballard though. The guy literally tries to round around blockers, tip-toe and dance steps all day long. I don't even think he has real good feet, debatable though. His hands are awful, and it shows when you are getting knocked out of plays so consistently, which is what makes him look "soft" and "inconsistent". Cliche' though, I know. I don't know, I'm tired of debating this though, this makes no sense, I really can't believe this argument. It's a little out there to me. Maybe I'm the only one that feels this way, but I'm doubting I'm wrong.
Cameron Jordan was a first round pick no matter what. His stock didn't improve by 2+ rounds. Hey look another post displaying the intelligence and debate skills of the posters at TGG. No wonder this board is such a hot spot for intelligent debate and Jet fan posting. Hey 85, maybe you can get Ham to ban me again! Fucking cunt. I bring actual material to this shit board and you fucking cunts get your little twats all wound up because the opinion is different from yours...lol as if this dump sets the standard for draft talk and rankings. Lol...to think I thought I'd be nice to you fucking losers and rejoin this shithole to give it some traffic and add some discussion. Enjoy jerking each other off after you ward off yet another guest with pompous garbage that somehow passes as material here. Re-ban me faggots. There's plenty more civil, intelligent boards to talk actual football with instead of this stupid, pompous, cunty, re-fucking-tarded circle jerk of a board. I'm a little mad at myself for giving this place another shot, but shit we all make mistakes and this one isn't too hard to walk away from. I will enjoy Brooks Reed not going in the first round now. It will bring me lolz from the memoriez.
Cimini thinks Houston would be a 'terrible pick' in the first round. He is now my favorite prospect in the draft.
Did he give a reason for it? I know considering it's Cimini so he probably didn't, but just in case I figured I should ask.
