Unusual Friday 4 PM game to start the home season. This is the first of 13 of the next 16 games to be at home, so if the Mets are going to be playing meaningful games this summer it would be a good idea for them to be at least 12-10 or 13-9 at the end of that stretch.

R.A. Dickey versus Jordan Zimmerman today. Nats go down 1-2-3 in the top of the first. Reyes gets to second via an infield hit and wild pitch, but Wright and Beltran hit line drive outs to end the inning.

Agreed, in the next 16 the Mets def have to win at least 9.

Bad top of the second for Dickey. With two outs he gives up a single, two walks, and a two-run single to the pitcher.

50 years of Ralph Kiner broadcasting for the Mets. Pretty amazing. I don't remember the broadcasts of the first couple of years too much, but I vividly recall Ralph, Lindsay, and Murph starting the first year at Shea (1964).

David called out on strikes with a man on 3rd and 1 out on a pitch that was clearly out of the strike zone.

Absolutely pathetic performance by the Mets with runners in scoring position - 0/10 and counting.

Pitcher can't throw strikes, so lets hand him an out.

    Idiotic. Fucking idiotic.

So you were against the bunt there? I disagree.

I was, he just walked back to back batters, why give him an out?

First pitch bunt attempt was Ball 1 as well.

I just can't fathom giving him an out, especially when we are struggling to get guys in.

you had your hopes up when the season started?

i had no expectations for this team when the season started and i still don't, and going 3-1 in 4 games wasn't going to change that either. So with that being said I'm not really disappointed with playing so shitly against the Phils/Nats

Dominant performance by Young, and once again the bullpen is crapping the bed.
