Normally I don't waste time with this stuff, but it's the offseason, and I thought we could use a break from lockout talk.

Belichick was the unanimous #1. Rex cracked the top-10 at #7.

    Nice line about your coach:

My reasoning is that Ryan, despite not winning the Super Bowl, has a tractor-beam pull on his players -- and even other teams' players -- unlike any other coach in the league. Ryan carries serious clout with the people who matter most of all, the ones on his roster. That's powerful, and these are Power Rankings.

Does Mike Tomlin really deserve to be number two on that list?

to me he took cowhers foundation and made it even better. then again alot of that can be attributed to their FO which has kept that defense nasty for the last decade.

plus like Rex he seems to have players whod kill for him.

2 might be a bit much but 3 or 4 would not be in my book

Tom Coughlin overrated and John Harbaugh underrated... other than that the results seem fair.

Now if they were to call Joe Torre the best manager in baseball in 2007, I would have had the exact same response. Bill wasn't exactly coaching the Yankees all these years, and he kept the team contending for a title every year since 2001.

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Keep in mind that I too despise the shit out of Bill Belichick.

    that's fair.

I'm just saying he shouldn't be #1, IMO. I'd take Rex, Tomlin, S.Payton or McCarthy over Belichick.

Had a hard time with that one too. I could see him falling at #4 or around there, but #2?

Tom Brady is the biggest reason they were contenders.

I have no problem w/ BB as #1, he's the only guy w/ 3 SB rings and 4 SB apps.

I do think Coughlin is high based on the one great run they had, outsode of 2007 what has he done in the past decade?

    Didn't read it?

As someone who has scrolled through their comments for the past three years, I can hear the Spygate whiners already.

But Belichick hasn't won anything since the New England Patriots were caught videotaping defensive hand signals ...

That's true, I suppose, if you don't consider 51 victories, a .797 win percentage, three division titles and a trip to the Super Bowl not winning anything. I'm pretty sure fans of any team other than the Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints, Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants gladly would trade their past four years for the Patriots' so-called embarrassments.

I didn't say he was nothing just that Brady is reason #1 why NE has had so much success. W/o Brady BB is a DC somewhere today but he has developed into a great HC thanks to Brady. It's a chance he never would have had if he didn't get lucky w/ Brady.

    Rex would strongly disagree.

But I get you. He's not exactly a likable guy, especially if you were a Jets fan back at the tail end of the Leon Hess days.

I think it would be pretty tough for them to put somene without a Super Bowl ring ahead of someone with one.

Getting lucky with Brady... that I agree with. But attributing most of it to Brady? I don't think so. Explain that whole season where the backup was winging it all over the field. BB is a special kinda douchebag that comes along once in a while... lucky maybe, but he's got all the hard rocks to show for it, and nobody is THAT lucky.

The Pats just had a perfect set of circumstances come along at the right time. And now they haven't won since they were found cheating. (couldn't miss throwing that in). :breakdance:

I have a problem with Andy Reid being in the top 3. This isn't a tenure ranking and he's won one conference championship in 10 years.
