Only the top of the 3rd, but so far so good - Ike goes yard to make it 4-0.

Willie Harris was a good pickup I had thought.

R.A. Dickey is on both of my fantasy teams. Also, a Mets fan co-worker of mine thinks his name is A.J. Dickey. She also thinks the Mets still play at Shea Stadium.

Marlins D is looking awful! second bad throw of the day. I like the Willie Harris pick up too. He always seemed to come up with a big play whenever we played againts his team.

For actually sitting in a seat and watching a game- yes. However, the concessions and concourses at Citi Field are leaps and bounds better than what Shea Stadium had to offer.

So we at least hired a hitting coach this year!!!

Ref yesterdays game , thought Niese showed some real promise and control.

    Agreed.

But yeah that's my biggest gripe with the new stadium. It doesn't offer the atmosphere Shea did. I'm not sure this'll change even if we ever have some really great successful seasons in Citi either.

Citifield is a typical new stadium where its all about getting the fan to spend when they are in the stadium and offer as much corporate as they can

Shea was as near to an English style soccer stadium I have been to in the us as it was just about the game, no frills no bs just sit down , freeze and watch the game

The Mets accomplished in their first road series, what took them 2 and a half months to do last year....win a road series.

People are underestimating this team. I said all offseason that we will have a powerfull offense and everyone laughed. I think we will, but damn if only we had Johan I really think we would have had a good shot to win the division. Still think we can get a wildcard some how. Cheers to good season hopefully. 25 year anniversary of 1986.

OK, I am very happy with winning the first series but this team did not play that great this weekend. Krod blew a save, Pelfrey had three decent innings then as soon as the Marlins get the bases loaded he folds like a $2 whore. So his head is still not right.

There were good signs, Beltran played well in right. The guys look like the new hitting coach has helped. They seemed to have a better plan when facing the pitchers. Neise and Dicky looked good. Harris should have been brought here years ago.

But in terms of underestimating them. realistically, Atlanta and the phillies are better right now. They both have better pitching. Right now until the phillies get healthy we have a better line up than both. But it's pretty close.
