624 is going to make the pick. Stay in touch and if someone else drops out or gets kicked out I'll give you a team.
Went with Jimmy Smith, hope Mack likes that pick...I had a hard time picking between Smith, or a certain LB or OT
Was figuring Smith was going to be gone before round 2 started....he will be welcomed mightily the way Bryant McFadden stunk up the joint last season.
Since my "Limitless"-type draft scenario didn't go as planned, I went with the best passrusher on the board. DE was a big thought with the Jolly arrest though...
Heyward may have the TJS injury but man...he is what Buffalo can use at RDE with the 3-4 move. They love pro bowler Kyle Williams as the 3-4 NT so they don't wanna move him, which means they will pass up on the big man that's available right now. Heyward has some motor problems and its scary when big OSU fan WW85 passed on him but he has the package and tools to be a force with the Bills and next to Williams, could be a big time contributor for a pass rush. The motor problems should go away with the chip on his shoulder of being a 2nd rder though....
LOL..sucka!!! Remember guys the clock is off at Midnight. You can still make your picksi f it's your turn.
Really sorry guys didnt see I had to pick until a little bit ago and just got to a laptop. Making my pick any second now, sorry for the delay again, Ill be on more during the week.
Had to pick Cannon. The need at RG or RT ( can play both so they can choose where to put him) is just too extreme. Wanted to address LB or DT but they need a good Run blocker and can just settle for a project in the 3rd.
They could go QB but to think any QB in the second could come in and start with there bad OLine would be a stretch. Im not against it but I just dont think it would be practical for them. And the Bengals never trade there players, look back at the Ochocinco mess from a few years ago, he's still there and so will Carson IMO.
They could go LB, DT, DE, or Safety. The way I see it, there's not much value at LB for this pick, yes there's one in particular who could fit there LB position but I think Dehani Jones could sign back AND I think there's still value later on for a good 4-3 LB. DE is another need but they have alot of players wraped up at that position, I could address it later though. SS, I can get a solid one later on instead of reaching. Guard and Right Tackle is a HUGE need for the Bengals, even their fans hype that position for improvement, Cannon is a solid run blocker and could be a decent pass blocker in the NFL. And if they want to make Benson their premiere back they need a good RT or RG.
I disagree with this, there is one player who in my opinion would have been great value at that pick. (is a LB)
I know exactly who your talking about at that LB position, trust me a had a hard time picking between the two of them but a bad workout at his pro day and comments from certain scouts saying he looks unenthusiastic about the game and very stiff I think scare the Bungals away. Also there's 4 other LB's that could easily play well that I could draft later maybe 3rd or 4th depending on value and stretch.
Cannon kinda reminds me of Andre Smith, both have weight problems, have problems with speed, neither display a consistent meanstreak(Cannon's is the better of the 2) and have tendencies to not play to their talent level. I don't know if the Bengals would want to replace a player with a similar one...
Wow Im surprised how down many of you are on Cannon. I see him as a better and more athletic Andre Smith (bigger ceiling as well) or Leonard Davis like many have compared him. He is just a massive OLineman but plays like he weighs alot less then 350. He had a great combine and yes I know thats not everything but Smith had a terrible combine in comparison. He has great potential at RG or RT and can help the Bengals run game IMO. Yes there's two other players I could pick at 35 but the OLine of the Bengals is in shambles and they need to improve at that position. I like that he can play RT or RG , gives Cincinnati a bit more range for him.
