You could definitely see that some of our blitzes weren't working as well last year. I wouldn't say anybody's figured Rex out, but there's elements of what he does that teams have adapted to, mostly mobile QB's vs. the overload package. This is why I really hope this year is Rex's draft. Blow the whole thing on defensive beasts (minus a slot receiver project) who can generate their own pass rush, and we may see a lot more of that look this year. Yeah that one.
actually thats the perfect name for Holmes and Edwards since all Holmes does is get lifted and Edwards was part of that pretty boy model set of NFL'ers with sherry
Hahahahahahaha Anyway, there's nothing wrong with DeVito's comments. It was a poor choice of words by Dilfer.
DeVito >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Cimmi >>>>>>>>>>>>>>Ocho I see nothing wrong with what was said by DeVito. When I read the thread title I thought he said some crazy shit but it was normal.
Nice to see everyone else ripping your 'interpretation'. When I saw the thread title, I knew exactly which comment you were talking about, referring to Cimini. It's absolutely stupid to think Cimini was saying anything other than that the comments were incredibly outspoken for someone of DeVito's generally quiet demeanor. He used hyperbole to do so, which is actually more than we've all come to expect from Cimini. He wasn't insulting DeVito. At all.
as already alluded to, its the offseason. think about the quality of threads on page one right now... now imagine your job depended on making any one of those topics intruiging and worthy of purchasing your rag. That's what these writer's are dealing with right now. the same lack of anything worthy that we, as fans, are going through. we just have it easier bc we get to judge and aren't paid for our opinions. so yeah, a bit of nothing gets exacerbated into "HOLY FUCKING SHIT YOU GOTTA READ THIS!!!" bc it sells.
That's not at all what he was saying. He was making the point that it was unbelievably unlike DeVito to make those comments. From anyone else they'd be par for the course because they were nothing. FOR DEVITO, however, it was outspoken. He's not actually comparing him to Ocho, people. Holy shit.
First of all, Cimini's comment is not even remotely critical of DeVito. Second, smoke and mirrors = good scheme and coaching. Obviously we could stand to upgrade a few positions on D, but to suggest that the players themselves were not a massive part of our elite defensive performance the past two seasons is ludicrous.
It still boggles my mind that people don't read things before running their mouth. He didn't call his comments OchoCinco-like. He said most people wouldn't bat an eyelash, but because DiVito spoke up, who never does, it's OchoCinco like.
