    Pace ranks among worst pass rushers
    Some of his under-performance this year can be blamed on the foot injury, but not all of it. If you look at dollars spent vs. performance, Pace has been a disappointment since he arrive in NY.

    He's the only one on the team that can get to the QB and knock the ball out in a big spot. He's made several big plays since he's been here. Just a tough break this year getting hurt early like that because he was primed for a good year.

    He has produced many more sacks, FFs and even tackles in three years with the Jets than he did in five years for the Cardinals. His production never declined.

    I agree that he is our best big-hit pass rusher. I also believed he was ready to rock and roll this year before the foot injury.

    I didn't say his production declined. But, with the benefit of hindsight, it's clear to see we overpaid.

    in addition to this he had one of the best pass rushing seasons in the NFL a year ago. If memory serves he was part of the top ten in 2009-2010.

    His production has never declined, and he has missed 8 games over the last two seasons for us, 4 with a broken foot this year. 4 last year for a suspension.

    The broken foot clearly affected his play early on, and he was back to his old self the last 2 weeks of the regular season and the first couple weeks of the postseason.

    Pace may be overpaid, but he is the least of our worries from a pass rushing department. He is our best rusher, and would become an above average #2 rusher if we could get an actual #1 pass rusher opposite, instead of you know Cactus.

    His final year with the Cards was his finest season in my opinion.

    He's by no means the best pass rusher but he is far from the worst, he isn't bad and as its been said if he played with a competent great pass rusher, his 7-9 sacks would be fine

    Pace would be an animal opposite a legit pass rusher. Problem is finding that legit pass rusher.

    I totally agree. It is just extremely frustrating that we pay him #1 pass rusher (at least in that vicinity) money.

    I agree with most Jets fans - we need a #1 pass rusher very very badly. I know the Jets like to fill holes through free agency before the draft so they can just pick the best player on the board but this year they may just need to draft the best pass rusher on the board no matter what due to the lockout.

    I definitely agree we need another pash rusher but this statistic is pretty dumb. If we have no other pass rusher and this guy is the main focus his numbers are obviously going to be down.

    Most Pash Rushers have a compliment on the line or on the other side
    Jerome Harrison==> has woodley
    Terrell Suggs ==> Haloti Ngata (jarett johnson isnt a slouch, oh yeah and ray lewis)
    Demarcus Ware ==> Jay Ratliff and Anthony Spencer
    Jared Allen==> Williams Wall
    Freeney==> Mathis
    etc etc.....

    I am not saying that every good pash rusher has someone to compliment him but usually there is another playmaker that allows that player to occasionally get one on ones

    BTW Calvin Pace had 3 sacks in the Playoffs.... That's fourth best in the lg

    I think the injury on his foot hurt more than we think... hopefully we'll bring a new OLB in rd 1 to alternate with Pace and Thomas.

    If u pair him with brooks reed i would say that we have our pass rush. When hes healthy, he can get to the QB.

    We would not be having this conversation right now if Pace hadn't gotten hurt.

    He was injured. Before that, he was exactly what we expected. Looking forward to getting that guy back next season.

    Hopefully Jenkins plays next season. He can widen the holes for our LB to do work. Our pass rush though was just generally pathetic last season.
