....comes out tuesday. technically 25 hours and some change dragon age origins was one of my favorite games ever. anyone else getting this? loved the demo as they improved a lot of things, although i liked the long drawn out text as opposed to the mass effect convo wheel
I've been playing it, I question their decision to lock armor on the rest of your party but combat is vastly improved.
It's been getting some disappointing reviews. I thought the whole point of Dragon Age Origins was to make a kind of successor to Baldur's Gate, and they did an alright job on the first one although the story was lacking. Sounds as if the second one has an even worse story and is lacking depth.
Having played it a bit more I can say I'm growing gradually disappointed in it, there seems to be no central narrative and the world/characters seem shallow even compared to origins which was a good game but not a great one. Hopefully it will get better but it's looking pretty average so far.
havent played it yet. im actually grinding pretty heavy through Origins. and this is one of the better rpgs ive played in a LONG time. IMO. although xenogears, star ocean 2 and ff 4/6/7 are top notch for me as far as storyline goes. from what ive read theyve improved the combat system yet took out all the good things from Origins if so that sounds extremely disappointing. but being as i already have a sealed copy paid for in a game stop bag im guessing ill play it anyways. has someone made an official RPG thread? and no not the pen and paper ones lol my collection is pretty fucking extensive
Origins was one of my favorite games ever. I have to say, I was worried based on the reviews and some comments on the bioware forum. But those nerdvirgs are so demanding and whiny it wasn't truly indicative I am enjoying dragon age 2 greatly. I'm about twenty hours through and I only have a few complaints. Agree about the companion armor, that's kinda stupid. The enemies appearing out of nowhere is also annoying on the harder modes. But I dig it for what it is. Its not origins, but it's a good game. The whole rise to power/prominence thing is pretty cool if not different. At its core, it's very similar to origins. People saying it was excessively dumbed down are wrong Despite no main villain like the archdemon, the game has its own charm.
If you like RPGs, absolutely. Even better that you're in high school because it means ou have time to play. It's a LONG game. Anywhere from 50-70 hours a playthrough.
I tried it out and was very disappointed. Way too much talking/selecting your reply and stuff like that. I just couldn't get into it.
Damn I love epic games like that but a good story is a must...is it like a generic RPG storyline or what? I wonder how cheap it is now...
It's cheap. I put mine up on Ebay for PC at 20 dollars and it didn't sell... I probably played mine for a combined 90 minutes, I just didn't like it
The story is fantastic. Is it lord of the rings ish? Sure, but it has its own personality. But the best thing about the game (and bioware games in general) is choice and how you can drastically alter the story or outcome of the game. You'll love it. can find it real cheap now a days anyways. The pc version is the best, but ps3 is good too. Xbox one is the worst of the platforms
EA has "flash deals" and deals on the game all the time. The ultimate edition was like $25 or 30 new the other day. That includes all the DLC and the expansion. I recommend buying it new because if you don't, you have to pay $10 for a major DLC that has a good character. Comes with new copies free
I'd sell it to you if we could find a way to do it...I haven't used that $10 character thing he's talking about yet, it's still in the case.
Bioware is a Canadian company. You should support your fellow Canucks. Aren't you guys all related anyways ?
