    bahahahaha

So it's Cromarties fault we lost the AFCCG? How about the 485 missed tackles in the first half (no of which were cro)? How about beating two of the most potent passing attacks in the league two weeks prior to get there?

C'mon now I didn't say it's all his fault. Everybody sucked in that game. But having our defense on the field for 10 minutes out of the gate didn't exactly help matters.

And it's far from the only dumb play he made that kept drives alive last season.
I just don't get the fascination with the guy. He's good. He's not great, and certainly not great to the point that I'd sign him over Braylon or Holmes.

He's a vertical corner, and at that he's very good. But he doesn't tackle, he gets smoked if he plays off-coverage, and any receiver with a double move on a slant fakes him out of his Nike's.

Is there a missed tackle stat somewhere? I don't think cro missed that many tackles...may be wrong

It sure sounded like it to me.

I have a higher opinion of him than a lot of people, but I understand some of the complaints people have. My problem with your post was that you certainly seemed to be blaming the AFCCG loss on him.

Fair enough. I re-watched that game this weekend and that one in particular stuck out as the beginning of the end.

Over-reaction aside, I still don't put him in the top priority category. If you ask me he's not even top three. For the amount of money he's gonna want versus what he offers us I think Brad's more important than him.

I don't understand calling a special teams/utility player more important than a starting CB or starting anything for that matter. I'm a big Brad Smith fan too.

for the obvious record: david harris, bart scott, pouha, devito, ellis, are the main reasons why we lost the AFCCG

do they suck? no. but it was an awful day for them.

^Would people have issues trading Cotchery/this years 3rd, and next years 2nd to say.. Denver for Elvis Dumervil?

We all love Cotch, and he deserves a ring, but Holmes, Edwards, Keller... hard to fit Cotchery in there.. We could resign Stuckey for the slot(who from i've read from other posters is a REAL slot wr

i would do this trade in a heart beat but seriously doubt it cud ever happen

Yes this team needs depth and help on Defense. We can not trade picks and a solid player. We are not a player away from the Superbowl. We almost got there with what we have, therefore If we can keep what we have, there is no reason to add another wideout, by giving up a good one.

You know, I've said stuff like that for years, as have a lot of other people.

But I don't think Mike Tannenbaum is listening.

Tanny has been great with his quality over quantity philosophy. Why change it?

We've also been relatively lucky with the number of injuries we've had. If we ever had an injury riddled season like the Packers did last year I doubt we'd even be in the playoffs let alone superbowl contenders.

What other teams out there have WR issues that have some OLB talent..that we could try, and dangle Cotchery, and a pick for?

No way Tanny gives up a 2nd rd pick and lets a guy walk 10 months later.

Cro and Revis is Rex's type of defense. He can unleash hell knowing what he has back there.

Wilson was painful last year and showed little sign of "getting it" as the season wore on. Make him learn the slot and earn a place on the outside.

Holmes is a franchise wr whereas Edwards whilst an excellent player is not of the same skill set

Signing both of them to a relatively long term deal will put a smile on my face that would be pretty damn hard to remove.

    1. It wasn't Cro's fault alone that we lost to Pittsburgh.
    2. It's hard to miss a tackle you never went for.

Cromartie was the least of our issues with tackling that day. If you want to believe something else, that's on you.

All I said was that Cro can't tackle on any day.

I want Edwards over Holmes as well. I just look at how effective the offense was with just Edwards. Keller and Sanchez had a great connection and Edwards was unreal in the Pats and Phins game.
