Havent done a trade down before but I really thought it be interesting to do since many of the prospects I want the Jets to obtain at 30 could be in the 2nd round 3-7 picks later.

I think the Broncos would be one of most legitimate trading partners since they have 2 2nd rounders and they are a team looking to rebuild with a completely new outlook on their roster. I believe they will be going a heavy amount drafting for the defense with that in mind with their second pick in the 1st they will go either CB or DT ( Peterson or Fairley/Dareus). I think they look to jump back into the first at #30 and pick Martez Wilson for the Strong Inside linebacker position on their new 4-3 defense instead of waiting for him and possibly seeing Green Bay, New England, or Buffalo take him.
The trade will go as follows-

The Jets receive: The Broncos #36 pick and # 67 (3rd rounder)

The Broncos receive: The Jets #30 pick and # 94 pick (3rd rounder)

Trade Value Chart would be ( Broncos 795 points to Jets 744 points) a 51 point difference, now a player could be added to that to cover that point difference but if you want to move back into the first your gunna have to pay a little.

The Jets move up in the 3rd and only move down 6 spots from there initial pick.

    Jets Mock Draft

2nd Rounder (#36): Brooks Reed, OLB, Arizona.

The Jets take their most needed player and the pass rush becomes that much better. Reed proved at the combine that he is even more explosive than previously thought; he is a strong athlete that Rex would instantly fall in love with. His work ethic and football IQ is superb and if able to improve a bit more in coverage situations could be an instant starter for years to come.

3rd Rounder (#67): Deunta Williams, S, North Carolina

The Jets have a tough decision to make on either choosing a DE or Saftey but with the value all there and possibly Sands and Rahim Moore gone the Jets take a leap and Rex looks for his next Ed Reed. Deunta is a work machine, he is one of those first one to get there last one to leave type players. His ability to stay consistent in man coverage and make solid decisions on the ball makes him extremely valuable for the Jets. He does have a broken leg as of now and was not able to participate in the combine or his future pro day but should be healed up by the beginning of the season.

    4th Rounder (#126): Sione Fua, 3-4 DE/NT, Stanford

Now this maybe a bit wishful thinking but Fua had just an inconsistent combine that seemed to hurt his draft stock overall, now I see a team or two possibly reaching for him but I think he falls to the Jets here in the late 4th. Fua is a big NT/DE player that can stop the run, collapse the pocket and can play in multiple schemes on the Jets defense. And hey who wouldn’t love a Fua, Pouha, and Pitoitua possible Dline?

5th Rounder (#158): Ronald Johnson, WR, USC

The Jets go WR here to fill in that #4 spot (although I do think B.Smith will be back). Ronald Johnson is an solid WR all around, he’s got decent size at 5’11 199lbs, great hands, and is a guy that will benefit tremendously by working with WRs like Edwards or Cotchery and the coaches. The USC connection also helps his cause just a bit with Mark and Joe on the team. He drops this far because of a lack route running ability and his injury problems. But all in all should be a solid WR for make to throw to.

6th Rounder (#190): Akeem Dent, ILB, Georgia

My sleeper pick that very well could fall into the 7th but the Jets lock him up here. Dent was a consistent tackler all through college and had 125 tackles with 2 sacks on the Bulldogs defense his senior year. Wont get much playing time on D but can fill in on blitzing situations and run stuffing situations at the ILB position. He’ll be a solid contributor on special teams and won’t allow us to get burned.

7th Rounder(#197): Richard Gordon, TE, Miami
Gordon is simply just a solid blocking TE that can stuff any linebacker with his huge size 6’4 265. He's not an overall speedy TE but can get separation underneath if need be, he was a failed project in Miami but has some potential to be an excellent blocker at the TE position for the Jets and possibly taught well enough can become a secondary target on goal line plays. Reminds me alot of Brandon Manumaleuna.

That would be a pretty good draft filling a lot of needs.

    Rush OLB. Check.
    Ball hawking S. Check.
Another big DL named Sione. Check.
Developmental WR from a Pro offense. Check.
    ST role playing ILB. Check.

Don't forget about developmental blocking TE to replace our 2nd string . Hahaa thanks for the feedback. How do any of you feel about the reality of the trade as well

If McDaniels was around that trade would definitely happen... and he'd take a QB

Doesn't John Fox make dumbfuck trades as well? Hahahaa he also stuck with Delhomme way to long ...

But in all serious the trade isnt as far fetched as it looks if you break it down. And the Broncos want the best players they can get and since the 3rd is so jumbled around players could be falling and rising all over the place. Also there not really giving up a pick.

Yeah, the Panthers traded their 2nd round pick this year to take Armani Edwards in last year's draft.

I think the Jets are pretty good at TE so the #7 should probably go for a developmental DB or K. Other than that love your mock.

I think the trade is both realistic and beneficial. Let's hope the Broncos think so too!

Gordon will help any teams running game improve while he's playing TE . I'm really a big advocate of getting a blocking first TE in this draft, it honestly improve our offense more then you think.
